It does explain why her character wanted plastic surgery in Burn After Reading I do like that drawing style though, apart from the face.

There have been trailers in theaters for a bit. If you think it looks poo poo in poster, hoo-boy you should see it on the big screen. IMDB posted:The ancient war between humans and a race of giants is reignited when Jack, a young farmhand fighting for a kingdom and the love of a princess, opens a gateway between the two worlds. I wasn't throwing that marketing team under the bus and I realize it kinda sounds like it in my post. That team gets a lot of movies that are kind of a difficult sell because they're the newest team. Cloud Atlas was a weird campaign and just between me and you so is this one in my opinion.

Cloud Atlas had an amazing trailer. This movie has absolutely nothing grabbing my interest. Like I still don't get why this movie was made. Once Upon a loving Time did a better jack/beanstalk movie in a tv episode.

Yeah, that movie was all hype, no payoff. All the pre-release stuff had me really interested in how it was going to turn out. It seemed like it was gonna be one of the most creative films in a while. Then I watched it and it was a loving chore to sit through. I can't in good conscience recommend it to anyone.

The book felt like somebody who wanted to write genre fiction but wasn't self-assured enough to do it unpretentiously so they did the frame story to dry and add depth. I enjoyed the book and the movie but neither really lives up to the initial sales pitch.

Cloud Atlas? Or Jack? The "looked like it was gonna be one of the most creative films in a while" is throwing me off Jack. The "loving chore to sit through" is throwing me off Cloud Atlas.

I tend to enjoy framed stories like that, especially so when they conjure up palpable atmosphere, which is what I was sure Cloud Atlas would do before its release. Then I watched it and I was bored to tears

I could be wrong, but from the trailer I got the impression that the girls are planning a heist so they can afford to go to their Spring Break location. And what kind of person wouldn't want to bring brass knuckles to a heist?
