Is the original dragon's dogma showing up as Dark Arison for anyone else as Dark Arisen? I went to compare games with my brother and it shows us both as owning Dark Arisen.

I almost always have a party build consisting of my Arisen as a Strider (or rarely Ranger) and my main pawn a Sorcerer (mostly with fire stuff, but also high lassitude and another off-elemental for variety). Then I try to find a Fighter and Mage that don't blow. Soul Skewer is a plus. Healing is a must. I accidentally picked up a fighter pawn with Guardian/Pioneer (I was just getting back in and forgot to check), and for some reason she isn't as insufferable as most Guardians tend to be. Loves grappling enemies too, which can be handy.

I have to scroll through the pawns five or six times before I find one that's not guardian. How do people stomach this?

I beat the whole game don't know gently caress all about pawn inclinations or how they work. I absolutely could not tell you what my pawn did on that character or what any of her inclinations were.

Not making pawn inclinations just a thing you can manually adjust in a menu whenever you want was really stupid. EDIT: Well, okay, it's more like it was one of those things that sounded great on paper: "pawns will learn to act like players order them to act!" But the implementation was crap and it should have been obvious after playtesting. Sindai fucked around with this message at 03:20 on Feb 24, 2013 |

I went through a pile of like 50 mages and every single one of them had awful inclinations, and then I finally got to the only one that wasn't Guardian. And it was a min height girl in a thong.

They don't even attack unless an enemy is within about three feet of you, and immediately stop the moment the enemy is out of range again. They're basically useless.

Everytime before I stop playing I make sure to run down to the outpost and check up my pawn's inclination and get the potions to reset her to Utilitarian and Medicant. Maybe thats why my pawn manages to get me a nice amount of rift stones whenever I play after an extended break.

I read in this very thread that a bunch goons recommended to set mage pawns as Utilitarian and that's what I did. It seemed to worked out, my Pawn attack when there's enemy around until they're dead, heals me if my health goes to red and put on the appropriate buffs for my weapons (which honestly, is just fire)

You never really realize the importance of a good support mage pawn till you stop making your own. I just switched my pawn, who had been a support mage forever, over to a warrior and now it's like impossible to find a pawn with good buffs AND the right inclinations. Like how hard is it to do Medicant/Utilitarian? Does anyone on PS3 have a good support mage pawn I can use? I'm level 90 at the moment, levels above that are not too big a deal. As a bonus, you get to use my brand new Warrior pawn who has crappy strength cause he's been a mage literally his entire life!

If only you were on 360 man My pawn was pretty much a mage the entire time outside of a few hours where I swapped her around to get a full 10 on every profession. I keep her using spellscreen, the healing spell and the one that removes the majority of ailments, holy enchant an ice and a fire attack spell with medicant and utilitarian.

Crud I already sold my DD in anticipation of Dark Arisen. I had a really well tuned mage pawn (heal/dispel/holy aff/ice spells) with utilitarian and nexus, turned her into a fighter for the laughs though and forgot to change her back. Oh well, maybe I'll get lucky and find another 1,2 million RC waiting for me once I pop Dark Arisen in.

So after completely missing the boat on Dragon's Dogma, I'm going to preorder the expanded version and hit the ground running on enjoying this thing while the community is strong right at release. I've done a bit of internet sleuthing, only to find no preorder DLC nonsense for the game; are there any places to get the Dark Arisen version for less than $40 shipped? (USA, 360 version)

Sorry if this question is easily answerable elsewhere, but is receiving random junk whenever I sleep at an inn an indication that someone is actually summoning my pawn, or does the game give you consolation prizes if nobody likes them?

The game will occasionally give you items to simulate your pawn being rented. The way to distinguish player rentals is that you'll get a rating for your pawn when someone actually hires it.

Before I make the choice to buy Dark Arisen or anything like that, I must ask the most vital question. Have they announced whether it will have improved framerates?

If only Dark Arisen was for the Wii U too. Hopefully Dragons Dogma 2? Oh well, looks like I have to bring out my ps3. Or 360. Not sure which one will run the game the best yet.

I own DD for both consoles, and I can tell you right now, neither plays it better, although 360 might load a little tiny bit faster when installed.

If the following things are simultaneously true: -Deep Down is Dragon's Dogma 2 -The Deep Down footage was in-game -Deep Down comes out on the Wii U My head will, Scanners-style, explode. Especially because I bet they'd put a bunch of work into coming up with a way shittier-looking Wii U version and then still not put out the PC version that they literally made because all Capcom games are made on the PC.
