Or is this something that winterboard can handle?
Turn off everything except weather/time in lockinfo settings? (Settings -> Lockinfo -> Notifications and Widgets -> Select each item in "In Notification Center" and set "View in Lock Screen" to off.

edit: you might also like Typophone, which is just a huge weather and clock (assuming it works on 6.1.x, not sure about that.) I think there are some other themes like that as well. Someone will post them...

Try Forecast in Cydia.

A little disrespect and rudeness can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day
So I just jailbroke my phone a few hours ago and have been getting the hang of it but the past few things I've downloaded through Cydia haven't appeared anywhere. They aren't in my settings or on any of my pages. Unless I'm totally missing something, where would they be? They were things like Forecast, NowPlaying, WeeKillBackground, WeeSearch, TorchNC... I can find them in the manage part of Cydia and have tried reinstalling them, but they're still nowhere to be found. Any suggestions?

Those will appear in Settings > Notifications. They are installed but don't show in the notifcation center by default, you have to move them to "In Notication Center" yourself.

God dammit I just queued up so many downloads from the few lists posted a couple pages back and there was a hash mismatch or some bullshit during the download and they're all gone. It seems like the jailbroken apps are always closing for no reason.

I've always found it's better to do a few at a time exactly because of this issue with Cydia. If there is an error and it aborts you usually have to start over with anything beyond that point in the queue and often those that came before it.

Yeah hate the look of Typophone. I think what I would ultimately like is something just like Forecast but with a little bit of a better layout. I found a winterboard theme I really really like but I'd like it to just work with stock notifications and not theme them: http://www.ifans.com/forums/imgcache/13207.png

EDIT: gently caress it just going with forecast.

Has anyone tried CleverPin yet? Only costs 1.99, and I like the idea of turning off the lock code when Im on my home WiFi.

Also, does anyone use SBProfiles? I downloaded it and messed around with the settings a bit. But I couldnt think of any real use for it, as the only toggles I really use are respring and brightness.

Are there any really clever uses for SBProfiles?

Just a heads up: if anyone updates NCSettings and it starts crashing into safe mode whenever you open the notification center you can fix it by going to Settings:NCSettings and hit Reset All Settings. It happened to me and according to the developer's twitter account the most recent update can have issues with a preferences file.

I bought it when I couldn't get AutoProtect to work properly. It works like a champ. I also disable the passcode for the iPad while it's connected to my MyWi hotspot since it's definitely going to be in my possession.

I grabbed it after I couldn't get the other app that does the same thing (forget the name) to work on my iPhone 5. CleverPin seems to work well enough; I might be paranoid but it seems like I get noticeably less battery life with it on, so I've been keeping it turned off while at work and just activating it at home. For two bucks I can't complain.

Do any of the location changing apps work with iOS6? Apps like Location Spoofer, FakeLocation and Locationholic? I used to use it mainly for the ability to stream the blacked out games on mlb.tv and ESPN.

Is there something on Cydia that allows me to add and change words to the spell checker? Most importantly, it doesn't automatically capitalize my name, seeing as it is also a word in the dictionary, so it always defaults to lowercase.

And in general, is there a blog site I should follow that is good at highlighting good jailbreak apps and tweaks?

I don't know about a website for jailbreak apps but for your name you could go to Settings: General: Keyboard and then add it as a shortcut. I had to do that with my brother's name because it would never capitalize it.

Can you not still type the same thing 3-5 times and cancel the autocorrect to get it to add the item to your dictionary? I haven't needed to do that in years, and I'm not sure it will work as I don't know how precedence over dictionary/contacts works for autocorrect.

It seems to do that for things that are not in the dictionary. I'm pretty sure I taught it 'Pokemon'. But 'Nick' is already in its dictionary, if only undercase.

6.1.3 fixes the exploits used by Evasi0n but is still in beta testing. Apple is still signing 6.1.2 for now.

Anyone tried Touchpal? It's a swipe keyboard and works pretty well (so far). The app's in Chinese so you have to search for it in Cydia (actually hit the search button) but it's kinda cool. Looks like the same developer has a version of it in the regular app store too.

I used to use TouchPal on Windows Mobile, I think this is the same developer.

It was FAR better than any other soft keyboard. I still miss it sometimes.

Just installed it. Holy hell it's so good. Once you figure it out. You have to add the keyboard in the keyboard section of Settings once you install the app. It's a little rough not having english documentation. With a little googling I was able to find this, though:

The company I work for is going to essentially be forcing BYOD on us, which means having to use the Good for Enterprise app on my person phone instead of just throwing a work Blackberry in my bag. Good flags phones as jailbroken and locks the account. Anyone know if Xcon or any other tweak would successfully hide its status?

The Xcon wiki implies that it's worked on older versions of Good but that it'd still flag in the admin console.

Thanks for that link. I was screwing around with it not knowing what all of the settings did. There are a couple minor things that bother me (no auto-capitalization for a new sentence and no period after hitting the space bar twice) but it's so slick anyway.

From what I remember of TouchPal, you can quickly get the symbols on keys by tap-hold-swiping in the direction of the symbol. Like for a period at the end of a sentence, just tap-hold C and slide down and the key popup changes to a period. Let go and it inserts. Do the same thing with the QWERTY row (except up, not down) and you get numbers.

Also there are some pretty crazy ASCII smileys if you hit the lower left key (gets you numbers and symbols), then the Smiley face, then the two up/down buttons at the bottom of the keyboard.

Also also, poo poo, you can swipe-scroll the list of character types on that same section, and get URL prefixes, arithemtic operators, even basically every emoji you could ever want.

This thing is so close to perfect. Also free.

Are you swiping from the top or bottom of the keyboard? It seems to work better from the bottom where the space bar is.
