WTF?!
I wouldn't say there is any deck stacking in favor of the left at all. The D's are solidly neoliberal after all and no leftist view points are being presented much less pushed when you call people like O'Reilly liars over cuts to healthcare.

I think there has been a shift in the sort, not necessarily amount mind you, of bullshit people are willing to put up with in the last year or 2 and the major media outlets have picked up on that and adjusted accordingly. Or at least trying to adjust anyways.

It's because politics have shifted so far to the right that even if the Republican party loses, conservatives still win on everything, except marginally less so on social issues than they may have with Republicans in power.

There is no leftist power in this country.

That one and the wetbacks video are my two favorite O'Reilly moments. I know people like this and I believe Bill was being completely genuine. He really thinks it's okay to call people wetbacks and is genuinely amazed that black people's knuckles aren't dragging on the ground. The only thing I'd say is that it's a good thing that he says it out loud, which has some value. Neither is preferable, but the silent racism that permeates most of these guys is always worse because they won't say it, so when you try to discuss it they just pretend they have no idea what you're talking about. With Bill, you can at least count on him to say wetback out loud and express shock that black people are, you know, human beings in a forum where you can debate him.

Didn't listen, so can't answer your questions. However, it in no way would surprise me if the Republicans became doves because the Democrats are droning everyone. Since the Republican Party platform is whatever is opposite to the Liberals, or would piss of a Liberal. Changeable daily.

Also, I am in awe of any of you who can critically listen to Rush. Just a few seconds and I feel ill. I'd rather listen to religious stations than right wing talk radio.

Didn't hear Rush today or the interview but the answer is that Rush and company are opportunists and immediately oppose anything liberals are doing or are perceived to be doing. Their current narrative is that because the FBI and homeland security (correctly) consider right wing extremist groups to be a domestic terror threat that Obama is going to start droning the poo poo out of white tea party Christians any day now.

They're really hyping up the fear mongering and conspiracy theorizing lately, not really sure what they're hoping to accomplish though.

Edit: For bonus idiotic rhetoric, Hugo Chavez is dead because of socialized medicine, if he'd have gotten good old 'Murican privatized treatment he'd still be alive today!

Yeah I heard parts of it and he was definitely agreeing with Rand Paul about all of that which was funny. Not quite as all over Rand Paul as Laura Ingrham was though. She was salivating all over every word he said and also all over Jeb Bush even though like 2 days ago she was laughing at the idea of Jeb Bush. But I guess she got orders to not poo poo all over his immigration stance that is not not the partys platform.

Know your enemies.

Rush's interview had a few highlights, namely him fawning, (my paraphrasing, but it was close) "No one has had the GUTS to stand up to this president, and yet we just watched you do it for 13 hours [...] no one has been brave enough to attack this president, but here you are, ok, everything's fine, and the sun is still shining."
He intended to come across as opening the floodgates to republicans to stand their ground or be aggressive, but it really just came off as though he was legitimately shocked Obama hadn't marched into the Capitol Building at the head of a squadron of praetorian national guardsmen.

Also, on the drones:
Paul, on if he felt that killing a US Citizen who is suspected of being a terrorist in a foreign country (literally being described as sitting in a populated cafe as a juxtaposition to about how to handle it if he was in a cafe in Chicago): "I would not advocate his outright killing, but I would think that an extremely high level military court hearing could convene a court martial, convict him of treason, and then drone strike him. Yes."

If he was in Chicago though, no, the police should come. Unless he was "armed with a grenade launcher" and required lethal force. But absolutely no drone strikes ordered by the military. He didn't comment on what would happen if the police had drones instead, just that the military shouldn't strike at people in America.

Oh, hey, also, before I forget, if a republican president wants to suspend habeas corpus, block first amendment rights, illegally wiretap, deport, extradite, and torture US citizens and you disagree with it, it's because you hate America, you human being. When democrats skirt constitutional law they want ta take are libertees in a socialist tyrannical hellstorm. Don't forget that ever.

I drive around for like 8 hours a day stealing peoples homes for a bank for a living. I also live in Arizona so it's hard to find anything. I have an ipod but I've listened to the 100s of gb of music on it so much that I just rotate through stations on every commercial break (of which there are a TON of). So if NPR isn't interesting I rotate through the right wing crazies. We basically have the Tea Party station of which I was sad that when Boortz left we didn't get Herman Cain, and Fox News which is the more mainstream republican station. It does get inside you like poison but I probably already hate myself so I keep doing it. It's also sort of a, "What will they say next?" sort of thing, like watching a car crash.
