Besides, those Cuban doctors aren't exactly slouches in their training.

MD Anderson is where you'd want to go generally speaking, which is why all the wealthy cancer death datelines read HOUSTON TX (e.g. Hitch), though specialists in specific types of cancer can be at any medical center in the world. You have to admire him not even trying to go to America, though. I mean I'm sure he would think they'd be trying to kill him anyway, but he was true to the end.

He starts shouting in the middle of a sentence with no build up, and it is hysterical to hear him lose it like that. I can't even type a hypothetical example because when I do, I inevitably put the emphasis on the words you'd think someone yelling would emphasize, but Levin will just yell out a word in an otherwise perfectly calm and collected sentence.

Taking these people at their words, is it really that much better to say "Oh, well I'm just publishing chunks of my researcher's reports and not crediting them"? Sure, the researcher knows the score and has apparently agreed to ghost-write part of Williams' column, but in this job market, it's exploitative.

Speaking of Mark Levin, I listened to him last night while he was interviewing one of his Great American True Conservative buddies from Fox News. I can't remember who it was, but the two of them were attempting to engage each other in friendly banter, and good loving lord was it awkward. You can tell these are the most insecure people in the world, because every time they poke fun at each other there's a noticeable pause while they try to figure out whether they've been insulted or not in what is supposed to be a friendly interview between peers. The best part was when the guest started mocking Levin's voice, which obviously irritated Levin, so that by the end of the interview I couldn't tell if these guys were friends or professional arch enemies.

How can you listen to him for extended periods for no reason and not be affected? He feels like poison to me and I'd listen to pretty much anything else on the radio than right wing radio. Maybe I'm too lucky. Well, in my case, since I started the thread, I feel somewhat obliged to know what these people are saying. Another part of curiosity along the lines of "what will he say next" and "how can they spin this into a negative" or try to blame it on liberals, whatever it is that day. It's a little bit like what made Howard Stern so popular, where even the people that hated him listened. Then again, at least Howard was funny for the most part. Another part of me is just genuinely curious to know what so many of my neighbors and co-workers are on about on a given day and where they're getting their information. Most right wing types don't know what to think about a news article until Rush and Sean tell them what to think. They're usually pretty quiet about an immediate news story, but let it bake for a day and allow the talking points to resonate and those same people start to have very strong opinions on the matter. The fact that they're someone else's opinions is beside the point. I can't stand to listen to too much of it either, but I force myself to just to know where my father in law is coming up with whatever poo poo he's spewing that day. I'm also not sure why today's (good) job numbers were bad, made up or attributable to Rand Paul and the sequester or whatever but I'm sure I'll know by tomorrow.

It just really irks me to see these people play off of others' fears and ignorance, feed this great big hate machine we've had to deal with for decades, making money and living like the kings whom them so constantly complain about, living nice long lives. All the while the people they are 'championing' for are getting played like suckers, still living day to day, paycheck to paycheck, and propogating the ignorance and hate that they absorb onto future generations.
