As fitting as I think the idea of Caliborn representing the antithesis of Homestuck's root theme is (a kid who failed to grow up in a story about growing up), it'd be awfully anticlimactic if the major conflict was resolved by his space mom showing up, grabbing Lord English by the ear, and dragging him off stage against his whiny protestations. It'd also undermine every single other character in the comic and be lovely writing in general if the only way to defeat LE was to bring in a brand new super-powerful character to fight him.

Oh, of course. That's what I think is going to happen, but I don't think it's going to work. I do think she's going to show up, though.

Any chance that a glitched out Calliope is a Trickster mode Calliope? It's the only glitch we've seen yet. There's probably one timeline where she got a hold of the other juju.

Edit: And we'll need, what, 11111 clicks to get her out of the dance?

I hate to bib a dead horse, but has anyone who was an international backer had their kickstarter pledges fulfilled yet? The last mention I saw was WP's twitter saying they were starting to work on them on 2/19, but I haven't heard a peep since.

Today, from the Official MSPA Forums:

What Pumpkin Shipping Offices posted:

Amazon pledges: All domestic have gone out, as well as Pledge $55 international. We are almost ready to ship the remaining international Amazon pledges, starting late this week or early next week.

PayPal pledges: We are slowly going through domestic PayPal pledges, with some of the $200 and $300 pledges remaining to be shipped (though we have also shipped $405 and above).

Paypal international pledges will start to go out the same time as the remaining Amazon international.

They mentioned that the packaging for international items was screwing them over, but that was probably long enough ago that it should have been sorted as well.

Their Kickstarter update on the 14th of January said they'd be contacting international people who needed to add extra shipping, and I still haven't been contacted about that, but that might be because I got the $605 tier, so it's going to be one of the last ones sent out.

In any case, it is kind of annoying that they're being so quiet about this, especially when I gave them so much money. Sent them a tweet, for all the good it'll do.

EDIT:

Well, that's at least a little more comforting, but I find it odd that they've been taking so long for international items when they pushed out (I assume) almost all of the domestic rewards within a month or two.

Bobulus

I'm just talking out of my rear end, but it seems like they did the shipping like this:

- The size of the response to kickstarter completely outpaced the size of their package shipping team (aka, probably like two people over at TopatoCo), and they had to scrabble.
- In order to deal with the influx, without hiring a bunch of temps, they put all the packages in a big order, based on first domestic/international, then kickstarter/paypal, then rewardtier and sent packages out as they had stuff. So domestic, kickstarter packages of a certain tier came first, and international paypal packages are last.
- But even then, they had to wait for things to be made / for Hussie to sign all those god-drat posters / etc, so shipping in general was delayed.

Compound all these issues with the email system getting so many emails that it actually crashed and everyone going to a different social media site to get answers and you've got problems!

Yeah tindeck has become a pretty huge place to post homestuck fan music and even voice recordings (naturally for voicing homestuck dialogue). It's an easy to use site and it lets people download music hassle-free. A lot of Lets Players are using it too now for similar reasons.

I think the main fear is that it would basically become impossible to even slightly express your interest in the work because you'd have irritating bandwagon tweens on one side being a massive embarrassment you don't want to associate with, and smug goony fuckers on the other going out of their way to obnoxiously  at anything homestuck related because Pop Culture Is The Enemy.

Oh boy, the forums are back! The new theme might take some getting used to, but I'm glad we don't have to wait anymore. Thanks for all the hard work, forum folks.

And soooo many things happening in the meantime! Let's go over some points of interest.

)(IC's trap: Oh my god. Totally didn't see that coming, but I should have. It makes me quite sad to see Jade and Jane getting mind-controlled, but it seems inevitable since Jade's presence in the new session would have made the heroes waaaay too overpowered. You've gotta make the villains the overpowered ones so that defeating them is a challenge. The only thing I still worry about with this is... who else would )(IC be able to control due to being part human and part animal? Davesprite? Is there any frog ghost left in Aradia?
Dave and Karkat being buddies is adorable. I guess that's inevitable after spending 3 years with someone.
Terezi slowly morphing into a faygo-covered juggalo makes me sad, though hopefully she won't stay that way.
Interesting that Rose is now an alcoholic while Roxy is the one who's sobered up. Who ever saw that coming back in the day?
Davesprite, stop being all emo.
I love love love that we're seeing Caliborn's quest and the origins of the Felt, albeit in an abridged way. I like that it's pool-themed rather than chess themed. And the Caltop is hilarious.
The fact that our intermission has intermissions is something we probably should have seen coming.
Lord English's circle-shaped path of destruction through Paradox Space shows that Caliborn's lessons in drawing a circle came in handy.
That pir8 crew is pretty much the best thing ever. The mind-controlled ghost armies are also hilarious.
Cherub worldbuilding!!! So cool. Now I've FINALLY got an answer to my question about giant green serpents... Meenah found a giant green serpent skull in Meenahbound that I couldn't figure out the significance of, and lo and behold we've got cherubs turning into giant snakes. I knew it'd come up eventually. Other people's explanations about angels being serpent-like are now kiiiind of correct.
Lord English's flashy powers are now automatically given the whole "cherub reproductive energies" explanation, which is neat.
Does this exposition about Cherub reproduction mean that Calliope's symbol with the two snakes is really kind of pornographic?
I hope Cherubs get feathery angel wings when they god tier. I wonder why Lord English never got his wings, maybe it's because he's "stunted" due to him finding a way around the whole natural predomination process.
Holy poo poo Gamzee's already there.

Re: IDE/Theory 29: Lord English is permanently horny/invinicble. posted:

okay so is there a limit to The Condesce psychic powers? i mean she could with the combination of Taurus and scorpion control jade but needed to use the tiaratop to control jane. someone somewhere mention that vriska's power could only put humans to sleep but I thought that that was because of the fact that the kids were on another universe. also i have a hunch that being nautical theme and all The Condesce is seacreatly a shipper, and that is why she teleported the prince of heart away. she ships roxy jake by the way. this got me thinking that Hussie true hero role is prince of heart. also on the topic of shipdestroyer maybe The Condesce will use her life powers to age someone to the point of destroying many a ship.
