Cars here seem to all have had the intervals pushed way beyond 10k miles for at least 100k miles. I can't believe they wouldn't be sludged after that.

NG900 finally went to its' new home, today. It really handled the ugly Donner weather like nothing, of course. It was kind of sad pulling off 80 knowing it would be the last time I drove it. I did finally replace the bulb in the gear selector.

Good riddance! (J/K man, I'm sorry a saab has left you.)

Don't forget to bring sunscreen and your own food. They have a BBQ there that you can use (everyone brings their own food for lunch), Pancake breakfast is cheap, and dinner isn't too expensive, but it's still a lot cheaper to come prepped. PRE-REGISTER. You'll stand in line for 2 minutes, instead of two hours. I can't afford to go this year, despite promising that I would.

Seat Safety Switch posted:What did she have before? Nothing. She's been riding the bus for nearly a year after someone smacked her '94 NG900S (they were uninsured) and it was written off by her insurance for pennies due to unibody damage. I picked up and repaired the car at expense to help her get a car that she could get to work and carry her grandkids safely around in. Ended up at about $3500 in the end since I needed to pay someone else to smoke/fix the EVAP issue. The rest was done in my driveway. Should go for another 10 years with just regular maintenance.

I guess not. The highway patrol said the other driver was drunk at about 11am on a Friday morning. I don't remember anything after they swerved into my lane and smacked my front quarter panel at at least 75. All I got for their contact (after several painful hours in the ER after a flight on a copter) was a persons' name and disposable cell phone number. Apparently it would have been one hell of a stunt shot. Rolled sideways and front to back. The firefighters and medics didn't think that I was in very good shape, since I was knocked cold and unresponsive. The tow truck company thought it was a fatality, until I arrived to get my personal effects that were left in the car when the medics cut my clothes off. That's me in the background.. or rather the stretcher they pulled me out on. The 2000 is unrecoverable, but it saved my life. I'll follow up with amazing pictures of the car-nage later.

Thanks for the well-wishes Wiggles, Fae, Tap. Wiggles, IV8: It sounds like this was on the news on Friday evening on KRNV, but there was another rollover by Lemon Valley.. even the cops were getting them confused. I am bummed a bit because I'll never get for that car what I sunk into it (was trying to make an indestructible OG95. I do have tons of receipts for the last few years, so hopefully that'll work to my favor. Right now I just want to stop aching long enough to sleep. I know my eyesight is affected (laptop is fuzzy about a foot away, never was before), but I'm hoping most of this will normalize and go away. I had a new job lined up next week; guess that's not going to happen.

Geeze. Here I am in my own little world and I decided to check the SAAB thread as I was finally going to replace the cable assembly for my rear passenger door and here you are all busted up. I'm glad to see you are ok. edit: my 07 9-3 randomly stumbles a bit after starting, it happens mostly warm, but it has done it cold as well. Its got 45k miles and from my understanding the plugs don't need to be changed for quite some time. Aeka 2.0 fucked around with this message at 16:21 on Mar 14, 2013 |

Pulling the plugs is pretty easy, unless you have one of the V6 bastards. I'd stick an ODBII reader on it and record the data to see exactly what it is reporting. I had similar issues with my (RIP) 2000 w/ Methanol until I got the latest T7 software flashed on it. That fixed it right up.

It's a good thing you were driving a Saab. I took a roll in one of my old 9000's which no doubt also saved my life at the time. This is why I will insist on driving Saabs for the rest of my days - I quite literally owe my life to them.

A relatively straightforward window regulator swap has turned into anything but on my '07 9-3. The rear window regulator on a 9-3 is not the scissor type. It is cable driven. I ordered this part and I noticed that the website says that the parts they sell are genuine SAAB parts and the product descriptions states that it is OEM. Once I got the part in my hand the name was "lama" or something along those lines. The mounting plate for the motor was different, in fact, most of it was different like it was re designed but it didn't say SAAB, or at least I couldn't find it. It bolted in fine and attached to the window perfect. A dry manual run confirmed that it seemed to be the right part until I went to mount the window motor. There were no mounting holes for the motor. I don't see how a part can be so close but so far. Am I missing an extra plate? I'm just sitting here scratching my head like a dummy since there was no differentiating part number for a manual roll up vs motor and I didn't think manual was even an option for this car. I emailed the place i got it from, hopefully they will know, but I'm cross checking with the experts here. West SAAB Story posted:Check your exhaust recently to smell if it seems rich? SaabUSAParts generally offers OEM by default; there may have been a few revision changes, but I'm not too hip on the SS to know offhand. There's likely Skandix, URO, and Scan Tech parts available ATM. My guess is that you have a later revision, or a Scan Tech part. Contact Mike Shaw @ SUP to see whats up.
