A little while back I came across a pretend company called Grey Design that designs cars and yachts for the "ultra wealthy". From what I can tell, they have never designed or created anything and have only made pictures of completely unrealistic silly cars and car-yachts that they could never ever get the funding for but serve to look really cool to 12 year olds.

Their funniest concept by far is the Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Car

The video that apparently was taken down in shame had the "Lead Designer" talking about it with unfunny l33tsp34k subtitles.

Someone apparently decided to try to Kickstart a 3d remake of a porn game--except Kickstarter apparently doesn't allow porn games... so this is apparently a Kickstarter for a remake of a porn game with all the porn ripped out. I don't even know what to say to that.

Look Professor, a destruct switch!

Based on the FAQ it looks like they're making a "clean" and an "adult" version, and are skirting around Kickstarter's rules against adult content by saying they'll only spend the money on the nonadult stuff, which will be used in both versions of the game and seems rather shakey to me.

Also, isn't Monster Girl Quest supposed to be a really disgusting/disturbing game?

Being hardened by years of internet use to the point where I can survive exposure to almost anything, I braved the Wiki. It uses the ever-popular tactic of "Wait! This demon may look like a barely pubescent girl, but it is over 1000 years old!". In context, I shouldn't have to explain why.

The very basis of the game is that if you lose a battle the PC will be raped by the monsters. So it starts with rape and gets worse. Also, like Jedit said, there are a lot of the usual Japanese "very old demons that look like prepubescent girls" characters.

It's actually worse than that. The monsters "fight" by trying to rape the PC, and he loses if he enjoys it.

He spent most of Thursday night schooling that Atlantic writer about how TV is funded, which is what question 3 is all about.

Kickstarter isn't about need for money, but want. At least according to this guy.

(There's also a bunch of Twitter screaming from a lot of people starting March 13th, if you follow John Rogers on Twitter he starts out talking about the article and then ends up giving a class in how TV and movies are funded.)

A short time ago, the idea came about to try to remake the old school RPG into something that gamers in today's high quality 3D gaming world would enjoy, but also keeping it to something that older RPG fans would also enjoy. We wanted to stick to old school RPG basics for us older gamers, with the classic text boxes, turn based battles, and a kind of anime feel, but we wanted to make it 3D with realtime gameplay and industry standard visuals so that younger gamers could enjoy it as well.

So they want to make the game both real time and turn based? How is that gonna work out for them?

A Fancy 400 lbs

Because anime monster titties. They don't need to have a playable game for it to sell to a good chunk of their support base, and the more idiotic and obscure the mechanics are the more the people wanking to it can go "Well obviously the game is just too deep for you".

Both X-Com:Apocalypse and Fallout:Tactics come to mind as games that do that. You can choose either mode and they both do mostly the same thing with real time just providing a set rate of AP regeneration for units.

Well that's loving fishy. With kickstarter, you're making money through, essentially, very early pre-sales of the finished product. Other sources of funding are going to be loans or selling equity in the company. If your kickstarter is going to be successful, I would think it would be the better choice.

Or it could be that they preemptively stopped the campaign because they weren't, contrary to what they said, on track to reach the goal:

The announcement came right after they plateaued. Somewhere out there, an investor just got duped for $250k, probably on the basis of Kicktraq's faulty "trending toward" number and the one-time pledge rush caused by the Simcity fiasco. Now they're adding supporter backlash into the mix.

I doubt they're complaining, because everyone knew, how the whole tier level was worded, that they would be dead in a panel anyway. I believe there was a tier just above that the said their OG troll would at least be guaranteed to survive at two panels, meaning they'd be introduced, participate in some way like being in the background in the next panel, then get immediately killed off.

Okay, so this was made to make fun of one specific comic artist and then later used as a ironically bad comic made by one of the characters in the comic.

In my opinion, what's happening is that most of the characters, especially the "trolls" share character traits common with terrible internet personalities maybe. I dunno. He's obviously putting poo poo loads of effort into a massive projects, and it can be entertaining. The characters themselves can be characteurs of certain internet people some time, or at least influenced by them.
