"This movie is probably going to bomb, so let's put a hot naked chick on the poster and we're guaranteed a decent opening weekend at least!" I don't like it. Not that I think you are entirely wrong, but I do think it's actually very striking in a way beyond the 'naked chick' angle. I look at it and think it's close to being a painting, in that the look of it isn't like a photograph even though it's probably just massively manipulated in photoshop or what-have-you. I like the way the blood is smeared around in a way to evoke her missing clothes, and I don't think she's in a patented 'sexy' pose, for what that's worth, it's a straight side shot. I found myself torn between being attracted to her form and repulsed by the blood, so again that drew me in. I mean there's obviously a sexual element there but for me, the sexiest thing in that poster is her hairdo. The most amusing thing is probably that I don't have any interest in the movie itself, (I mean, murderous nurse, big deal) but I'd totally own that second poster.

Actually, when I went to go look it up, it seems I am mistaking The Hills Have Eyes 2 poster's controversy with a different controversy. The blood having to be changed to dark brown thing must have been on another poster (I distinctly remember this being an issue), THHE2's poster's problem was that in the first poster, they had someone who was clearly alive being dragged, like this: Which was deemed unacceptable, I can't remember exactly why but I think it was explicit torture or something. They changed it to being a lifeless dead body
