Clive Burr (the first drummer from Iron Maiden) passed away last night, which sucks He's had MS for a long time now so I'm not incredibly surprised, but it's still lovely news. I feel he contributed significantly to the core Maiden sound, particularly regarding the gallopping sound with the drums and bass playing rhythmically together. Sad day

Yeah just saw that. Really sad but he's been sick for a long time. At least he's not suffering anymore. I love those first couple of Maiden albums, and the drumming is a big part of that.

e: gently caress it. This goes at the top. Came across Crow Black Sky on Youtube. Black melodeath from South Africa. If you like it, album is free on their website. Fiddled around the always-handy 2013 in Heavy Metal wikipedia page. Noumena has a new album coming in April. Austrian Death Machine is working on Triple Brutal. :iamafag: Christopher Lee is working on something called The Omens of Death. There's a loving gigantic list of bands still in production, including Swashbuckle and Limp Bizkit! Great Horny Toads! fucked around with this message at 07:50 on Mar 16, 2013 |

Crust. Metal. Anarchism. Ska??? Yes, ska. Dirty, filthy, pissed-off ska. Not the most likely of combinations, but it works. Very well, in fact. End progress is the soundtrack to an insurrection in the streets. http://moshpittragedy.bandcamp.com/album/end-progress You say those words but

New Kvelertak album is leaked and you can listen to it here: http://stereogum.com/1290242/stream-kvelertak-meir-stereogum-premiere/album-stream/ On first listen it's alright. Not quite what I was expecting/hoping and there's a block of songs that are all twice as long as they should be. Hopefully it grows on me.
