1st off, if someone is in a car accident and they receive emergency treatment to remove the metal pieces, the attending doctor would , without a doubt, have their license revoked if they didn't perform a follow-up x-ray to detect leftover metal pieces. I don't buy that any judge would ever throw that case out

2nd off, "metal poisoning" is a possibility, i'm not sure what cars are all made of but i would bet some parts have thallium or cadmium in trace amounts i dunno. and electronics are full of poo poo that is bad for you

actually i did some more research and there's something called metallosis which is basically when people get metal powder/shavings in they blood and it settles in they tissues, it usually comes from metal-on-metal joints in hip replacements (most of the google results for it are bullshit but i found a few :stonk:

y medical papers)

so i guess if this person somehow had two pieces of "shrapnel" which were somehow rubbing on each other for several years and managed to accumulate a sufficient amount of debris this would almost be somewhat plausible :thumbsup:
