I'm pretty sure the game only counts military casualties, so no, not really.

Actually, considering those numbers... That's probably more than half of the Soviet population dead, if you add in the expected civilian deaths from - at first - German occupation, and then Allied nuclear bombing of all major cities and the resulting collapse of any semblance of public order or governance.

I wonder what long-term effects that would have on the Russian psyche. Our own World War 2 was bad enough in that respect, but this takes the cake.

In a manner of speaking, yes; specifically crediting Paradox employees could actually put him in more risk because it can be used to establish he knew his game was ripping off Paradox's game. It would be like if I made a new soda with a lemon/lime taste, said "Thanks for the idea Sprite!" but when Sprite sues me for infringement I turn around and say "What Sprite? Naw, we just both came up with similar ideas, mine is nothing like their's".

I mean he's pretty blatantly in violation anyway, but specifically thanking Paradox in World Stage would have made it even easier to sue him.

So to get ready for Victoria 2: Heart of Darkness, I tried out a new type of game called the "Oh God how do I USA" game. Everyone says the USA is easy to play but it was pretty hard for me! First, I stopped colonizing those poor natives because I didn't see what I needed them for, and instead used those NFs to build reactionary support in New York, since that seemed to be the only party that had its priorities straight in the USA, but I also took time to build liberals in the south to keep things fair and balanced.. To keep the slave states happy and not successionist, I admitted every single colony as a slave state. Then, I closed all the factories in the USA because I felt it would be a better investment to stay an agricultural society. Looking around I noticed there were lots of nations inside the USA yearning to be free, so I obliged them. In fact, I noticed there were nations inside Mexico that wanted to be free too, so I decided to dedicate 100% of my armed forces and money to freeing them! The end result is this

For the curious; the blue in Utah is 3/4 of the remaining USA (the other 1/4 is Washington itself. As the Free States of America, we have no need for the monument to tyranny, the White House), the blue just past Maine is the Maritime Union, and the green in Ohio and Arkansas is the Cherokee (I figured since there were a lot of Cherokee in Ohio, I'd give them a core on it when I released them).

Strangely, me and the CSA are both great powers. I have no idea what's going on with Canada in this game, the UK is doing so bad Socialists took over and installed a democracy and now they are Great Britain.

NOT PICTURED: Independent Yucatan and Tarasco. Also somehow the CSA got a core on everything from Idaho to Antioquia. I can't imagine this not resulting in a fascist CSA.

How did you make the flag icon actually depict the entire flag instead of a small circular spot in the middle of the flag?

Also, that's amazing, I've never seen Mexico become an 'Empire' or seen the Confederate States and the Free States both secede in the same game.

I think it's meant to happen if the US refuses to outlaw slavery, and represents the "free" states breaking away from the slavery-tolerating federal government. I thought it was an addition in PDM/APD or something like that, though.

This mod. Those tiny circle flags are awful and I'm so glad this mod exists.

Trick is to make reactionaries in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Illinois, and make Virginia, and Georgia liberal bastions. It should end up rapidly triggering the civil war. You can also just release the CSA :v:.

Drone posted:

It's from the New Nations Mod found here. If the USA doesn't deal with its slavery problem for too long, it will eventually cause states to break away, and so since every state but a small handful were slave states, the Free States of America broke off, which also caused a liberal to be elected in the USA, causing the regular civil war.

How important is Their Finest Hour? I didn't realize I got HoI3 with an IndieGala bundle a while back, and it's the only Paradox game I haven't really gotten into. It's on Steam as well, so I can't use any Blue Coins on it, so I'm ok with spending $10 on SF and FtM, but I'm a bit hesitant to spend an extra $10 on it if I'm just going to be as overwhelmed as I was when I tried out Darkest Hour. I've been working on the MOTE scenario for the Azerbaijan LP, and decided that instead of spending way too much time trying to a good set of random generals and admirals for each of the major powers, I would instead write a little app I call EagleMaker to do it for me. Since it's a useful tool for anyone modding MOTE I thought I'd share it.

EagleMaker for March of the Eagles
Author: Martin "Wiz" Anward

** Instructions **
This is a simple little application used to randomly generated Generals and Admirals for the purposes of modding March of the Eagles. To use it, run EagleMaker.exe. You will be presented with a number of text boxes to fill in:

Names File: This is the file EagleMaker will load random first and last names from, default is names.txt. Follow the formatting of names.txt closely when creating a new names file, avoid additional line breaks or spacing. Multi-word names must be put inside quote marks.
Traits File: This is the file EagleMaker will load general/admiral traits from, default is traits.txt which contains all vanilla leader traits.
Output File: This is where the generated data will be dumped, default is output.txt.
ID Range: This is the ID that the first generated leader will use, and will be incremented by one for each additional leader. Default is 100000.
Number of Generals: The number of generals that will be generated. Default is 5.
Number of Admirals: The number of admirals that will be generated. Default is 5.
Average General Skill: The average skill of the generated generals. Default is 3.
Average Admiral Skill: The average skill of the generated admiral. Default is 3.
Max General Traits: The maximum amount of traits given to generated generals. Default is 0.
Max General Traits: The maximum amount of traits given to generated generals. Default is 0.

Once you have configured the fields and files according to your needs, simply hit 'Create' and your leaders will be generated in the output file.

** Future plans **
- More options for skill/trait ranges.
- More flexible file loading that can handle line breaks and additional spaces.
- Changing the ID value to correspond to the last created leader (+1).
- Saving values between running the program.
- No duplicate names.
- Random portait selection.

** Changelog **
