Can anyone recommend a good beard trimmer that's relatively cheap?

Since we are on loose leaf tea talk, does anyone have any recommendations on a good loose leaf tea brand? Something I can get online? I've been drinking Adagio Tea and they are okay, but I wanna try something else. I like Earl Grey the best, if that matters.

Ditto and an electric shaver. I usually wet shave but my beard is getting long enough now that it feels like a waste of time and effort.

I like using this one. It is cheap and relatively good. Battery is normally only good for 1 or maybe 2 trims though. I use it to shave my face down to stubble, but its also a good trimmer. Works on beards, body hair, etc.

I like Twinings for standard teas and David's for blends, but there's a whole tea thread you could also check. Definitely avoid Teavana – the quality is pretty mediocre and they're very overpriced.

edit: I should add, Twinings Earl Grey is my standard, but I haven't tried David's – I do know they have several takes on it.

Don't know about the quality of their Earl Grey, but their Oolong teas are of exceptional quality.

I'm hooked on David's Tea's Earl Grey. Got a POUND of it on amazon for cheap. It does have a very strong citrus zing to it. For my Chinese teas, I go to teavivre. Great quality/price.

I love Upton Teas, though their website is...dense. Their Earl Grey Extra Bergamot and the Vanilla Earl Grey are really good.

On the less fancy side of tea, Im trying to drink less energy drinks and stuff and since I dont enjoy coffee, figured I'd switch to something like green tea. Whats a good but cheap tea for use at the office?

You may want to give Yerba Mate a try. It's not super cheap but definitely cheaper than a daily energy drink and it's kind of an acquired taste but if you like it it's got a pretty potent caffeine kick. I think somewhere in the neighborhood of coffee by volume.

I'd go instead for a more boiler plate black tea like an orange pekoe. Then just British all over that poo poo and dump a load of creamer and sugar into it and call it good. It's how poor people have been staying white knuckle caffeine crunk in the UK for a hundred years before energy drinks were a thing. I like Taj Mahal for my cheap caffeinated tea fix.

Or if you want to go Green Tea loose leaf get some Gunpowder Green Tea. That's definitely what got me into drinking Green Teas in general. If its too bitter or sour you could also try a bagged blended type like Tazo Thrive or one of the Yogi Tea Energy blends which have some mix of herbal teas along with Green Tea and Mate for a big caffeine kick.

Does anyone know any good umbrellas? I just need something that is flat (and therefore small), automatic if possible, and definitely windproof. There isn't much that fulfill these criteria that are also small enough to carry in my bag, but if anyone has something like this (or just knows a really good brand) it would be really helpful.

I don't know if they're widely available, but umbrellas by Fulton are pretty awesome. I found a little one at work and it served me for over 5 years before I lost it on the subway. I like to think that they're so good that no one actually buys them, they're just found in your time of greatest need and then leave to help another when it is time.

1 or 1.25 liter at least and available in Europe. Any suggestions?

I bought this one a few years ago to trim my beard and it's still going strong. The shaver attachment is pretty okay, and I've never really had luck with electric shavers. Battery life is excellent, though I only use it once a week or so, and just to trim my beard and shave the non-bearded areas, so I end up charging it maybe once a month or so.

Do you actually trim or just cut it down to X length? If the latter, if you have some hair clippers, just use the shortest (or no guard) length available to trim it.

I was looking at these, these seems like they would be perfect but it seems somewhat difficult to buy, unless I pay a fuckton for shipping. Senz too... why are all the good umbrellas British? :smith:

I have a straight shaft model and it works great. I don't know what difference a curved shaft might make, maybe if you're swinging it around like a scythe?

I suppose it could reach more areas if it's angled the right way? I'm assuming it's not convex in any way, I'd look it up myself but the Home Depot site won't load properly.

Ok so I'm starting to gather all the poo poo I'll need for deployment on a ship (electronics/porn/glee) and need some input.

So far I have my xbox 360 and laptop. Also have a projector I'm contemplating on bringing.

My laptop is a gaming laptop which is kind of gently caress-off huge and kind of cumbersome. Also generates a lot of heat so I can't rest it in my lap. I don't really plan on using it for watching movies and poo poo but just for transferring around my files from an external hardrive or possibly hooking it up to my projector.

I'm looking into getting a tablet and or some kind of e-reader. I'm not up to snuff on either nor have I owned one. I have an iphone and it'd be nice to use apps I've purchased with an ipad but the pricing is a bit much. I'm looking for a tablet just for the ease of watching movies/porn while I'm laying in my rack and the off chance we get wifi. I know a lot of new tablets have came out recently and some have USB outlets?

As for the e-reader. I really like those ink screen kindles I've seen. But they require a separate light if you're reading in the dark, correct? I'm not sure if I could handle starring at a normal tablet screen for hours on end. Ideally I'd have one for both.

For the xbox 360 I do have a 23" monitor I could bring. But I'm worried about space and securing it so it doesn't fall over. I was thinking about getting something like this.

I've used the paperwhite for an hour or two a day every day since I got it for Christmas. It's wonderful. My hunch is that the other backlight e-readers are pretty similar; my dad has a backlight Nook and it's basically the same thing. I'd choose based on price, availability, and more importantly, whether you'd rather buy from Amazon or Barnes and Noble. I slightly prefer B&N's website. While Amazon is good for general shopping, I find it is kinda crappy for looking for books.

It is different.

An important distinction is that the paperwhite is not technically backlit, it is lit from lights hidden under the side bezels shooting out over the front of the screen. The effect is similar, although if you try real hard you can sometimes see little areas of the screen closer to the lights that are slightly more well lit. The light reflected off the screen is easier on your eyes then backlighting, which has more strain because you're basically staring right into a light source.

I have one and really recommend it.
