Nice, cool to see other people who have gone. I wish I could take my time on the tour, I know I would spend hours there. I love watching the factory floor too, it's just so cool (no pics allowed ). What's this goofy little thing?

I could have spent the entire day watching that assembly line. The way they put in dashboards is simply awesome. (and most everything else, anyway) That odd vehicle doesn't exist! The only 2 hydrogen vehicles they have now are the two that you see in your photo - a van-like thing and an RX-8. Oddly, the entire museum has not been updated to reflect the fact that the RX-8 isn't made anymore. Which is odd considering just how much of the tour is dedicated to how awesome rotary engines are. Have a Familia:

Tech day at the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals at the crazy Zmax Dragway in Charlotte. We only run Top Alcohol Funny Car, but it's pretty similar to the John Force/Etc cars. (that's Cruz Pedregon's car behind us in the Body tech line. The pro cars are racing 4-wide this weekend, it's a crazy sight. I'll post some more pictures as the weekend progresses. And of course if there is any engine carnage, I'll post some over in that thread. Here is the same car two weeks ago in it's match-race trim for a race at a small track in Virginia. It's easier for the driver to see his surroundings at the small tracks out of this thing.

I went to a thing and took some pictures of things. Beverages were involved so i didn't take very many pictures of the things. All i really learned is that the porsche 911 is stupidly comfortable for a 6'9" tall man. Waaaaaaaay too many people think they're professional photographers, and every single one of them is completely oblivious of their surroundings.

Not sure the history of this 240z or why I have all these pics of it. They used the dash from an 89-92 240sx: I used to have a bunch of 240's but these aren't my pics:

Less of a mechanical thing, more of a really well done cosmetic thing. The company I buy leather treatment stuff from sends out a newsletter once in a while. The latest one had this TVR leather interior re-dye in it. I like it a lot:

I can't decide if awesome or not. I'll let you make the choice. Saw this on the drive to work this morning. I tried to get out my cellphone in time and missed the shot but remembered I had the GoPro recording. I grabbed a still from it. (click to embiggen) Yes, it's a Jeep JK Yellow Cab. Soft top even. Somehow I don't think that's the most efficient vehicle to be using for that purpose.

I was wondering the other day if you could pep up a DMC-12 by replacing the PRV with a Volvo B230FT. I know that the Volvo 760 and 780 used the PRV to start with and later got B230FTs when the PRV turned out to be kinda garbage.

I don't think I've ever seen a picture of a Mk I or II Escort going in a straight line. Also, this thread is doing very bad things to the part of the brain responsible for rational decisions.

Anyway, you want to drive across Antarctica. In winter. You need a vehicle. You could, of course, hit up Top Gear to borrow a Hilux (though it's not like you could get much farther away from where they left it), but perhaps something a little more... robust is needed. A Caterpillar D6, for example. No wait, that's stupid. Two Caterpillar D6s. Yeah. Don't forget the winter tyres! so i was browsing a local junk/antiques store today. its really just an old house stuffed with crap that you can snoop through. if you go out back, theres a big, dark garage filled with yet more crap. but under that crap.. a bently of some sort. regan driving santa around in a rolls. theres a jag under there. and the bently again, from the back.. they all looked like they were in really, really good shape. looked like they could run if they were cleaned up.. hard to tell though. there was one more in front of the rolls, but i forgot to get a picture. looked really old.. dont think it was a bently or a rolls though. i doubt any of them have run in forever.. no idea what the story with them is. this place is in berkeley on telegraph if anyones wondering.
