I assume with the prices being in GBP that it's a UK established site which means it will be Saturday there in 48 minutes.

Or I'm completely wrong.

Piccadilly Records just put up a bunch of RSD stuff too. I got the Sebastien Tellier 7" I really wanted, I'm really quite surprised actually, but YAY. Also picked up Caribou-Milk Of Human Kindness RSD LP and John Talabot-FIN because I felt the need to buy more.

4AD just reissued three TV On The Radio albums in color vinyl. Desperate Love, Cookie Mountain, and The Dear Scientist. Available on Rough Trade shop and Picadilly. Not sure if there is a US site that will carry them. Having never ordered from either store (I'm in US), what's better in terms of packaging or they both about the same?

What up, nerds? I ended up completely blowing RSD 2013 off on account of not really wanting any of the special releases super badly and also not having any money. The only things I really wanted were the Agaetis Byrjun reissue- which I wasn't gonna get in Boston without camping- and the Sharon van Etten 7". Looks like UK reissue pressings of the former are still ~$30 online and the latter doesn't seem like it'll give me any trouble to find in the future. Altogether, truly the stuff great Record Store Day dreams are made of.

My little odyssey with Amazon regarding Amok ended on a positive note a few weeks ago. They sent me a $10 store credit as an apology despite the fact that I hadn't stuck out the preorder with them (I cancelled my order as soon as I got the initial "we're sorry but we won't be delivering your album on the day we promised" email and grabbed a copy from an independent store's profile before everyone sold out). I used it to get the new Knife album for under 20 bucks. The warehouse it shipped from was super close so it arrived by surprise the next day too. It's pretty fantastic, except that it does that thing that all Knife/Fever Ray vinyl does- where the packaging is ambitious and really good looking but also completely terrible and fragile as all hell.

Are you talking about that silvery cover copy of AMOK? Because a store I go to has had a copy of that sitting around for about a month. If you absolutely must have it I can pick it up and send it to you. It is 40 bucks though, so with shipping you might be looking at a purchase of or around 50.

Oh no. I'm sorry if I didn't make it clear before- I have a copy. I bought it from a record store's profile on Amazon after canceling the initial preorder, right before they started jacking the prices up. Thank you for the offer though. I think there are one or two posters in this thread who've mentioned wanting one and I'm sure someone would appreciate your help. It's hard to find a copy of the special edition online for less than $60 before shipping- and lots of flippers have gotten pretty cocky with their pricing already ($144?!?!).

I picked up The Raven That Refused To Sing yesterday, after only having heard a CD rip of it previously. Vinyl really does it justice. Probably one of the best sounding records I own now, and I think the production is some of the most impressive I've ever heard. Incredible album, and well worth $30, which I wasn't sure about at first.

Also soundstage Direct has some awesome packaging.

Steven Wilson never disappoints with his production (or his music), that's for sure. You should get the bluray release as well if you have a surround setup, it's amazing. The end of The Watchmaker is one of the best parts of the album in surround sound.

It's probably the vinyl. I've recently started collecting my favourite albums on vinyl, and Boards of Canada are one of those artists where I just can't justify shelling out the sort of money required to get my hands on a decent copy of something like 'Music Has the Right to Children'. However non-limited the initial release it, it will eventually sell out and then prices get silly.

Edit: forgot I was posting in the vinyl thread.. duh. Still my point is just that BoC vinyl = desirable = expensive and getting in on the ground floor is the best idea if you are a fan. They've not released anything I haven't liked so it's a safe bet if I don't get this now, I'll be kicking myself for it later.
