Well, as an assassin you could bring a strider bow for fighting Death and equip Fivefold Flurry to hit him multiple times. Since you're an assassin you either want to not get hit or be ready to block, so pack a sword and shield.

To add to this, do you have the Sinew and Leg-strength augments? When I play assassin I take along a sword, shield, daggers, a bow, and a few hundred special arrows. The additional carrying capacity and lowered encumbrance from those two augments, along with the medium / light armor that assassins use, still leaves me room for curatives along with the quest items and materials I pick up along the way.

It's kind of a waste that the enlistment fort stays wrecked for the entire game, after that first incident. It's always on fire and soldiers are always standing around doing nothing but watching the fire.

In fairness, if there was something that managed to stay on fire for months and months, I'd sit and watch it, too.

Also, I didn't know it was actually possible to kill a griffin before you hunt him down and kill him at the wizard tower for that quest, but I just did. I managed to knock him over for a moment, and my mage pawn decided it was comestion 'o clock, while I tried out my spiffy new magick archer fire-flip-stab thing on his face eight times. I know it's no epic victory, but holy poo poo do I hate the griffin more than any other creature, so any time I put a knife through his smug face is a good time. Griffins are dicks.

Oh yeah now that I'm overpowered whenever the griffin incidents happen(the first random one, the quest one), I kill them quickly.

I heard there was something up with the Bluemoon griffin-how it opened up new paths for you or something. See that fight is so awesomely done I almost feel bad for killing the thing but...then I see it's :smug: face and I stab it because it gave me so much grief in the lowbie days.

EDIT: and alas, it's happened. Amon got killed so many times in other people's games he's down to a 4 star rating after having stayed 5 for almost a year. I AM convinced they made BBI the way they did for that purpose. :colbert: (I'm joking since I do know ranking means nothing in the end but it was more fun to look at.)

Well thanks to people's advice I beat Daimon last night, I just loaded up on as many special arrows I had in my inventory along with all the strength peripats I had and it went rather well.
None of my pawns died to his big doom attack since and when Lunethex and Sombrerolads pawns stopped casting healing spells long enough to actually attack, he didn't last too long.

I got the Oblivion head and chest as a reward from the chests outside his room too which was a nice reward.

How many port crystals are there around the original game world and where are they? I've found 2 so far doing the first round of quests for the Duke.

I also seem to have hosed up any opportunity to have Madeleine open her shop too.

There are 5. One at the bottom of Everfall before post-game, one in a cell in Shadow Fort, one in Witchwood(area unlocks after the quest Witch Hunt), one in the Dragonforged's cave, and one at the top of Bluemoon tower(this one was in the original game).
There's also a permanent portcrystal outside Cassardis and on Bitterblack.

EDIT: Do Mage enchantments scale with the Magick stat or are they same regardless of it? And Anodyne too for that matter. Considering giving my Mage the Legion's Might staff that instantly revives them when they are killed, but has poo poo stats. I'm not going to do it if my enchantments are affected.
EDIT: Should've googled first. Enchantments don't work off the Mage's stats, they work off the wielder's. Anodyne does heal faster/more with more magick. I'll have to see how significant it is.

Sound is fine on the dashboard, but game is completely silent (all audio is at 100 on the in-game menu). What. The. poo poo.

That's the Recluse's Robe. It's a reward for an escort quest from Mason and I think you can find it in a gather spot inside of the Dragonforged's cave.

I decided to step into the new area and check it out. It was all fun and games until I got to the chained up cyclops. Right when I enter the room my pawns decide to attack the chains and release it, and it proceeds to stomp around continuously killing them over and over as they all decide to run to the same place every time I revive them. After trying to damage it for awhile, I see some dragon thing decided to join the fight and I just gave up.

wtf, how am I supposed to kill it - am I supposed to change to a ranged class just so I can damage it? My party was level 54 warrior (me), 54 healing mage, 100 sorcerer, 53 strider.

Yeah, probably. There's something that's always bugged me in this game, sometimes you just have to be an archer to do anything reasonable to an enemy. I'd recommend not fighting them right now. They're big walls of meat and HP, and fighting them sucks. They still give me grief and I'm level 120+ by now.

My pawn keeps shouting "go for his weapon arm!" and saw her jump on his arm and pull him over twice, so if you have a heavy character maybe that's a strategy?

He was weak to ninefold arrow from my MA, which is ice-based I think. Try a wizard to enchant you with ice affinity and swing away. Unfortunately he's really not worth trying to climb on because his grab and chomp is a one hit kill for me at 125.

Also a chest in the Blighted Manse sewers. Dunno if it's randomized or set, though.

Finally beat the main game last night after tooling around Bitterblack a bit and getting my face staved in by a gorecyclops. Despite reaching fluffy pink status with Quina, Madeleine, and Selene, and apparently actually pausing mid-rescue for makeouts with Duchess Jailbait, the true love of the Arisen's life is Ser Julian. I guess setting people on fire and chucking them in prison is a sign of affection in Gransys? Maybe that whole bedroom strangler incident was just a big cultural misunderstanding.

I miss the pity dates your pawn used to get. Every time I stay at an inn mine just stands there, steeped in loneliness and rejection. I'm tempted to try to find him a more emo hairstyle and dye it black.

It's not a bad idea if you can speed run the game quick enough to get into post-game for BBI. I did it on hard mode to dragonforge my pawn's equipment all at once and get extra gold and XP but if you do, just remember to make sure Fournival is innocent again unless you wanna lose out on his useful items.

I had to do a pic of Amon murdering a siren by apparently using it as a trampoline. (small shout-out to the demon bird)

Also-about the Luigi style clothes-I'm pretty sure I remember a couple of things that can kinda pass for overalls-ish; also, there's some green-colored stuff around. In fact, I think there's a long-sleeved green tunic(Hunter's something or other?) that might fit a Luigi pawn perfectly.

There's an unlimited use customization thing in the encampment for about 10k RC IIRC. I think that's what puts the option on the main menu.

I'd just max out strider/mage/sorcerer for augments and then go magick archer. Do it as a mage/sorcerer first though

It probably depends on whether you want to use daggers or a staff most of the time. When I played MA I found the dagger skills way more entertaining (it is still the only class in the game that lets you light yourself on fire before scuttling around on giant monsters like a flaming cockroach while they gently caress out and try to get rid of you). I also think strider gets much better all-purpose augments, Leg Strength in particular, so I would go with that.

Magick Archer has arguably the weakest stat gains per level so I would recommend getting everything you want from other classes first before switching, then sticking with it for the rest of the game.

Dr. Abysmal
Feb 17, 2010

We're all doomed
I maxed out Strider, Ranger, and Sorcerer (along with dabbling in other stuff for useful augments) before I switched full time to magick archer around like level 55. I also went up to 5 in mage before getting bored and going to the vocation I actually wanted to play. I guess I could have stood to gain more magic attack but I could one shot post game stuff like hellhounds and succubi with a single Sixfold Bolt anyway. So I don't think the extreme amount of min maxing some people might recommend like 100 levels as sorcerer are really necessary. They buffed all of the magick bows from vanilla as well.

The Ricochet Hunter magick bow skill is pretty dominant on BBI too. Most of the dungeon has small rooms and tight corridors for max damage and many of the recurring mini bosses like eliminators, elder ogres, and garms are weak to lightning. Like if I get a 3 garm necrophage spawn I just fall back to a narrower hallway, let them chase me there and spam ricochet shots, they'll all get stun locked and torn apart.

Does the Sorcerer's +Cast Time augment help with Magick Archer abilities?
