Is there any room on Bitterblack Isle that is as bullshit as this?

Any tips for Mystic Knight stat progression, or suggestions on what other classes I should level for specific augmentations?

I'm picking DA up tonight, and I'll be continuing from my previous save. I think my character started as a strider to 10, magick archer to 10, and then I went mystic knight. There may have been a few levels of fighter sprinkled in, but I'm not 100% sure; it's been awhile since I last played.

There is an arena in the final block of BBI where you have to fight two overly aggressive firedrakes at the same time. It can get very silly if you get unlucky. There is also the four living armors guarding a door, but I think people just run past that though.

Some of them have the potential to be. Depends a lot on if corpse-feeders join in. Two Gorecylopes, three Garms, and two Eliminators was probably worse for me than that room. And anything big combined with Strigoi. Oh, Forgotten City can be bullshit, but if you take it slow and don't attract lots of attention at once it's not so bad.

It's two drakes of any kind, I had 1 fire 1 ice and then 2 ice neither of which is particularly fun, just getting hammered by constant spells is pretty bullshit, Also any room with corrupted pawns can be pretty bad, rangers that do 50% of your health in one hit or a hidden caster doing the cyclone can ruin your day.

Edit: just for sheer attrition the room with 1 Drake and poltergeists can be annoying because the geists can scare your pawn away from casting elemental affinity, and you need it to do any damage to the Drake, luckily the room is optional

I think I hosed myself. I did the final quest and I guess I can't do anything now except start new game plus? I'm bummed because there was a lot more I wanted to do without replaying the entire game again. It kind of sucks that the game does this to you when you're not expecting it.

Restart from checkpoint, I think? Been awhile since I pushed the main game that far.

I'm in the Senechals chamber and am on the Great Hereafter quest. I tried restarting from checkpoint and that didn't work. I tried exiting to the main menu without saving and I loaded my game (I saved still in the Everfall) but i guess the game decided to overwrite my manual save because I was back in the Senechals chamber. This sucks I never even killed the Ur-Dragon and did hardly any BBI stuff.

Ah yeah, you're hosed. For what it's worth you can burn through the main game in about ~2-3 hours if you've got all your port crystals setup. You can also enter BBI whenever you want, it's not a post-game thing.

Ur-Dragon is over-rated. He's seriously the worst designed boss in the entire game but I know it's nice to do at least once to see why (plus the loot, even in offline is pretty good!)

Is there any point to doing any of the sidequests again or do they all still give the same rewards? And do I get to make a new pawn so that maybe now he will be able to be used by people playing Dark Arisen?

Hey Merchant of Death, thanks for the cursed gear and stuff! It's a pretty great incentive to get back into the swing of playing when you login after a while away and find some bonuses.

Thanks to everybody else that took my pawn out for a spin.

I just did my first escort quest (I haven't visited the pawn's guild yet) and confused the Shadowfort for the Greatwall Encampment. So I accidentally took Reynard to both. Killed like 5 chimeras, two cyclopses and a couple Fell Lords(??). Managed to scrape by and crawl up to the entrance with a fraction of my healthbar remaining and my pack full.

What kind of sadistic quest system asks me to go to the Greatwall Encampment before meeting the Duke?! An awesome one.

No point unless you want the hero trophy or whatever. It'll keep track of which side quests you did across all your playthroughs so you can just do the ones you skipped/missed if you care about that. Other than that just ignore them.

You'll start NG+ without your pawn like normal, but NG+ will skip the little Arisen tutorial chapter that you played in your first playthrough. When you get to the encampment, you'll be pushed into the Pawn editor (I think, been awhile) where it'll still have your pawn settings from before. You can just leave it unchanged or mess with it there, up to you. You'll need to set his vocation back in Gransys or BBI though, as you'll only be able to pick from the 3 basic classes.

Not sure what you mean by recreating so other people playing Dark Arisen will use him. If you have DA, he should be DA compatible. Whether he gets rented or not is kind of hit/miss of course. Not much you can do to help that.

It does take a little while for gifts to register, and sometimes it doesn't, it all depends on the Capcom's servers.

I finally got them. Shame I can't move the class restricted armor to the new account since my pawn is a mage while the weapons I sent over are from the warrior.

And not to ask for spoilers, but which quests run the risk of disappearing if you don't finish them before X time?

Hmm is it just me or is BBI really hard for sorcerers? The bosses love to exclusively target me over anything else making it really hard to actually cast any spells. Also if I spent the first 60 or so levels as a mage/sorc how much of a pain would it be to switch out to the physical classes now?

Owl Inspector
Sep 14, 2011

I can't comment on the BBI stuff as I don't have DA, but you should have no trouble switching to Magick Archer or Mystic Knight. You could still probably do pretty well with Strider or Ranger. You will have a kinda mediocre strength stat at this point but there's no reason why you couldn't do fine as a Fighter-side class too.

This list isn't what I was looking for, and I'll edit this post if I can find it again, but there is a list like this that shows you all the global quests not part of the notice boards that are important and/or missable.

What I meant was that if you next cursed armor purify is poo poo, it will always be poo poo. Doesn't matter if you give away the cursed item and find a new one, it will still turn out to be the same item because the RNG is already set for your char. You can manipulate what class it comes out for with vocation swapping, but it will always be the same until you purify it.

Additional fun fact, the random supplementary effect on those armor pieces (i.e. better item burden, better bow defense, innate health regen, etc) will be the same regardless of whether you change vocations or not.

Nah, not just you. It sucks. Mobility is really king in BBI and the closed spaces just make life hell for Sorcerers. Some fights have good vantages for you to cast from, but it's iffy since you need to go down fairly frequently to raise dead pawns. Configuring your pawns as immortals helps a bit.

Yes. They tend to do that when you deal a lot of damage on their faces, especially when you break their horns off.

Don't give in to fear. Fear is the mindkiller.

That and you probably want to be wearing dragonforged gear. It's not cowardice to run away, but the big tough monsters that take forever to kill drop good items. Don't have pawns who have guardian inclination because they will get you killed. I always carry 3 wakestones just in case.

Yo does this augment work with throwblasts/etc. this is important.

Also I forgot just how powerful Ranger is. You can skip enemies across the ground like stones across a pond and because they are technically downed they take more damage. You only need one really solid hit and you've pretty much taken something out of the fight.

You'll come to an area early on with locked doors. You need seven copies of the key to open them all, some are easier to find than others. Look up which treasures are behind which door and make sure the first one you get is the Ring of Dessication.
