One of my friends back home ran into this little gal at an adoption event today: According to the rescue's page for her, it's sort of like a cleft palate? Apparently it doesn't bother her at all and she doesn't need any special care as a result of it. But man does it look wacky.

The only problem with a dog like that is that in about a month, you'll have TWO dogs like that. In two months, you'll have FOUR dogs like that. After a just a year, you'll have almost FIVE THOUSAND DOGS like that. Most people don't understand the hidden costs of bifurcating dogs.

So I just bought a house and my 1+ acre of fenced in land. Yay! The house still needs to be looked at and checked for hidden flaws before the actual sale as per our contract, but I'm going to have a yard by a stream. (Also Two Nosed Dog is adorable!)

Today at the dog park, a guy alpha rolled his GSD because she was barking at me. He did it really gently and pet her while she was on the ground, so she just wagged her tail and thought it was a grand old game and kept barking at me. I was amused.

Gary was helping me write by, uh, sunbaking I guess. He looks stationary until you see the tail. Every day when I get home I get The Inspection. Where have you been? Who are these dogs you smell of? Harlot.  After The Inspection comes barking time.   Then he jumped all over me and scratched my face and I growled at him and I broke my dog.

Ready to adopt my first ever dog of my own, and spent all day getting everything ready in the house. Before the dog can come home, someone from the rescue org has to do a home check. So I wait around all day for her to call and don't hear anything until 7:30pm asking if she can do it tomorrow night! I just want my new best friend! Tomorrow is a day off so I really wanted to pick him up in the morning and spend all day with him but now it looks like I'll have to wait until this weekend

Running/helping out a rescue is NOT easy, poo poo happens. Try not to fret about it too much, and good luck.
