It is a show for stupid people who didn't get the joke so they changed the joke to be the absolute lowest common denominator so now they get the joke and it's painfully poo poo. Somewhere in me I realise this, but that doesn't stop me watching it. It works as a satire. Sometimes. Or at least it did, now not so much. I feel like some shred of wit occasionaly shines through, despite its shittiness. Still, it's not bad as far as 'turn your brain off and laugh at dick jokes' TV goes.

They steal our good poo poo and make poo poo. So if we're stealing their poo poo poo poo how does that come out? Oh hang on it's Everybody Loves Raymond starring Catherine Tate and Lee Mack, that is unquantifiable by today's mathematics.

Someone has cloned George galloway or something. Very strange. In fact he was sitting in the young person's spot, maybe the makeup person just assumed it would represent a continuity issue in the best of repeat thing I assume will be on in two weeks or whatever.

That was the most recent 10 o'clock Live. George Galloway was on (with John Sergeant and Deborah Mattinson) debating the validity of minority parties.

So what did we think about The Politicians Husband? I thought it really let itself down. Some of the dialogue was abysmal, the central speech was just abysmal, a list of headlines and then some arm-waving which was made worse by all the characters loving it. Also I felt the melodrama sort of outpaced the characters, and that they killed the grandfather just because he had grey hair.

I kind of liked it to be honest, although what the gently caress kind of elderly person plays dead in front of their family, especially when one of them's autistic? Though I was just about to add something about finding it difficult to see where they're going to go from here and I checked to see how many episodes were left. That was the last one? That is pretty poo poo.

killing the grandad was totally contrived, it basically had no effect on the plot whatsoever other than making David Tennant cry. The last 10 minutes of the episode really should have been a full episode itself. It was far too rushed. The Grandad dying wouldn't have been so poo poo if they had shown some actual consequences of it in a 4th episode.

That was Michael Fabricant: another Tory who uses eccentricity in appearance and manner together with a pretense of hostility towards his party's leadership to try to conceal the fact that he is a complete and utter oval office. Who are all these scrubs watching HIGNfY when it's not been good for years? Also I just watched the final third of an hour and a half program dedicated to the ball scene in Pride and Prejudice. Lots of lit-crits and historians pretending to be peeping around doors at a room-full of professional dancers in fancy dress line-dancing. Very very odd programming, but I guess the P&P crowd need a little servicing, and it's cheaper than adapting Persuasion or summat.

Anyone who likes silly documentaries about disabled people and/or sex should watch Channel 4's Sex on Wheels. It has a prostitute who specialises in servicing disabled people, a guy with cerebral palsy whose dream is to become a porn star, a wheelchair bound woman with a bone disease going out on the pull, and a recently paralysed man injecting boner drugs into his penis. Top quality channel 4 programming imo

I'm a literature student, I love P&P, I love period drama and I love historical reenactment shows (Victorian Farm ). This programme was tailor made for me really and I struggled to watch more that twenty minutes of it. It was just so tediously dull and more than a little odd. I didn't watch the whole thing but I bet you at some point one of them referred to it as a 'journey of discovery'.

I started watching it whilst hungover and he grated on me at first, but after trying again a few days later it was good. The Warrick Davis one afterwards was pap. I think Ray Winstone was on afterwards, he was funny enough but some of the guests were a bit awkward. Can't remember anything else. Most of the time someone will have to sit next to Ian Hislop and look awkward throughout, the other guest won't say anything, Merton will interrupt somebody else's joke then moon at the camera and Hislop will go on some arsey rant that sounds a bit right wing and out of place, like having a conversation with somebody then your uncle barges in and starts talking about immigrants. Not that Hislop would have a go at immigrants, but seeing as he hates Labour and is on a show that boosts the popularity of right wing politicians he's as bad as Goebbels. Relatively. I don't think I've watched any british telly for a few weeks. Any time I'm bored and start looking at iplayer or 4od my face shrivels up. If Scotland gain independence will they have a SBC?

I just watched too much of the Yentob show about American television, which is sloppy beyond belief. Since they're determined to cover any show it's conceivable some wanker's bought the box-set of, they can only talk about each one for max 3 minutes (Alias got ten seconds). Obviously you can't say anything meaningful in that time so they pick a break-out character and have the writer and the actor talking about how groundbreaking and truthful they were. No thesis, no discussion, no nothing, just "hey Omar was cool, right? He had a shotgun..." This is all compounded by the moronic direction where, when talking about The Shield's invention of moral ambiguity, they demonstrated "pure evil" with getty images of: Hitler; a swastika; a hosed-up clown; a black hat. They kept on throwing Ben Day dots onto screenshots to... what? Emphasize the americana I guess, because nothing's more yank than Lichtenstein. Why did Yentob lend his name to this? Is it some faustian pact where to broadcast an hour-long interview with a homeless poet he has to varnish this tosh?
