That is the One True Brace Style. Functions & methods get the opening brace on a separate line. if/else, for loops, etc., get the opening brace on the same line. The closing brace always goes on a separate line.

what if you had a language that didn't need braces as delimiters so you got readability and standardization for free without having to argue about curly brace style. That would be neat. Also K&R is better than allman, why do you need 3 lines to have the word "else". Please sandwich your elses.
