Indeed. The last couple years of their models haven't been as trashy, but I wouldn't get anything Hyosung of that vintage. The fit, finish, QC, and support base are/were total poo poo.

A mate of mine had a 250 Hyosung, 2009 model I think, he was fairly happy with its build quality, I wasn't overly impressed with it myself, but he seemed to like it.

Ignition cutoff doesn't kick in until 14500 RPM on that bike. That, and the optimistic speedo (~10% over, so indicated 50 would be about 45 actual MPH), might get him close enough. "Only runs with the choke on" makes my eye twitch, though.

I'm dumb. Excuse all that poo poo before. I forgot to change stock redline to 14.5k which means it redlines at 40mph at stock gearing and 50 when you go 2 down / 4 up. I think you'd rape your clutch trying to take off with that gearing within the first week of owning it. E: Wait gently caress, I forgot to change stock redline to 14.5k.
