They always wanted to push him, but knew he had little personality, so they never tried to give him much more gimmick other than "sociopathic badass", which he's decent at, but it turns out that's an awesome gimmick to have in wrestling, and a breath of fresh air in a promotion full of goofy, doomed to fail, badly executed gimmicks.
