While we're up, why not include a plugin that allows for custom engines from that engine designer game / toy.

There's a tech demo out where you can drive a small 4x4 and and a completely badass 8x8 through various terrain, ford rivers and crush puny trees beneath your mighty tires. It really feels like they've got the physics of the whole thing down, and with a bit of polish and some missions etc., I think it could be a fun little simulator-style game for AI d00ds.

You can get the tech demo here: http://www.oovee.co.uk/games/upcoming-games/spin-tires/

Kickstarter here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/358753914/spintires-the-ultimate-off-road-challenge

You can do it here with better physics for free. And it's french.

Say what you will about the Boyd Coddington school of cookie-cutter "customs" and the man himself, the Cadzzilla is monstrously badass.

It's a shame Boyd farmed most of that car out, then. Same with Chezoom.

Boyd, at one time, was a great hot rod builder. After his shop started getting on magazine covers, he either had the work farmed out or had his in-house employees do the deed. That's where Chip Foose got his start. Chezoom and Cadzilla were of this period, and while he did do some of the work himself, this was the start of his transition to businessman. Anything after this period he probably didn't touch personally.

I went to a wedding at a auto museum in Hershey, PA over the weekend. What an awesome place to have a wedding/reception. Instead of sitting at your table staring at the other people you may or may not know for 2 hours we got to walk around and look at cool cars! There were only two that I really took pictures of:

GNX - 600 original miles, still has the factory plastic on the seats.

Porsche 959 - Never thought I'd ever see one of these, I was laughing like an idiot. Must be new, they didn't have any placard or anything about it. I really really really wanted to look in every nook and cranny but it wasn't meant to be.

Yea I would guess this. The museum isn't enormous by any means so I imagine it doesn't have a large number of fulltime staff, and those that do work there doing those types of jobs probably see it as "just a job" vs. trying to do these cars their full justic.

Fucknag posted:

I see this both ways, I do think cars deserve to be driven. But on the other hand this one completely mint can hopefully stay that way so future generations can see how bad rear end it really was.

If I was into collecting (and had the pockets to do so), I'd have to have two. One to rub with cotton diapers and the other to drive around.

The 959 is now legal to import. There are 2 black ones roaming around Minneapolis.

One of the very first Test Drive (maybe NFS, can't remember) games you had a choice between the 959 and F40, if I recall correctly.

The F40 would (just barely) beat the 959 pretty consistently.

edit: Yes, I do love the 959 but I just prefer the F40 that much more. I love how technology packed the 959 is, even for today. But I especially love how raw of a car the F40 is.
