dur posted:why didn't they just put a teleporter in the sick bay and the bridge. would solve a lot of problems imo if i remember right when they were first planning a new trek series in the 70s they were going to have little one-man transporter pads on the bridge and in sickbay i think with those they figured the bulky equipment would still be at the transporter room and the bridge/sickbay pads would basically be like extra pad space directly connected via a long extension cable or something like that

Started reading Consider Phlebas on audiobook since I'm getting laser eye surgery on thursday. Great narrator, and drat the story and writing is good. It's a shame Iain Banks died.
