Gave Albert Einstein a proper listening today and honestly think it's a great album. Alchemist has some interesting samples and elements from well known beats littered throughout and the production's solid if unspectacular at times. Prodigy at one point says he's "mandatory listening" or something to that effect - don't recall the exact wording - and he's right; great album.

Mac Miller's album is pretty decent. Mellow production is on point, he raps competently and the subject matter is surprisingly introspective from a kid who normally raps about being a kid. Nice features too, especially Bam Bam on Red Dot Music.

Last Wu-Tang show I went to was nothing special. I'm glad I got to see them, but I don't think I would go out of my way to do it again. They're all getting so old that they need Cappadonna to step in and spit while they catch their breath.

My biggest thing w/ Yeezus is that for all this talk of reduction, the :30 to :45 it takes for a beat to take off on some of these songs is kinda grating.

But if you're at all BASED or Task Force aka a fan of Lil B, you're gonna have a good time. I'd love for him to do an 18+ show around here sometime.

I can't decide if I like Yeezus or not. There are parts of each song that I really like, but then other parts I just lose interest completely. Although I do appreciate that Kanye is trying to move away from that which will make him money and move towards making music that he wants to make. I guess its more commitment to art or something, but I like it. It may not be my favorite album, but I like what Kanye is trying to do with his career.

Yeezus will probably be the best selling rap album of the year. Overall I've been digging the album, everyone I show it just stands there saying "flawless", it's alright but it's nothing special. I preferred MBDF.

I think Yeezus sounds different from and not as good as Kanye's previous albums. I thought that one of the songs near the end sounded like an aborted Ratatat mix, and overall I was unimpressed with the lyrics. Present day Kanye seems lazy as hell lyrically (with some neat wordplay), and hearing the same line repeated over and over with increasing intensity or slight lyrical changes gets pretty stale after a while.

I was on xannies and drunk as gently caress, but it was really good. I'm not huge into his music and I know maybe 4 - 5 songs at most, but he was great. Incredibly energetic. Can't really say I'm based or taskforce, but I really liked his talk at NYU. poo poo was incredibly sincere. Crowd was hyped as gently caress for won ton soup.

He stayed after the show to take photos/sign poo poo for literally everyone. There was a person in a wheelchair and had anxiety about being lifted onto the stage, so Lil B went down afterwards for that person. That was really nice. The show wasn't sold out and was really empty, but it was great. Told him how much I enjoyed his NYU talk, and he gave me a bottle of water lol. Going to cherish this very rare and based artifact forever.

People poo poo on B but honestly, as a rapper, as the package of MC and whatnot, he is amazing. I can go crazy to a lot of his songs, and the style and the subject matter varies. But he def gives it in the live performances, and for all his eccentricities I see him as completely honest. It's not rehearsed, it's just Lil B being Lil B. Based 4 Life.

I think Yeezus is pretty solid. I actually hate the "throwback" Kanye song, Bound or whatever, upon first listen. All of the Daft Punk produced songs are fantastic. I listened to "Black Skinheads" in the car the other morning and it was physically difficult to restrain myself from driving erratically. Seems like some great live songs on there.

So, I'm looking for some music very similar to Ratatat's remixes of rap songs. Are there any similar artists or DJs that do this? There was a rumor about a remix volume 3 coming out but that was like 4 years ago.
