I work with a girl who named her son Harley Mallory. Which of course are real names, but Mallory as a boy's middle name? And no, I don't work at ISIS.

I can't stand when someone has two names that end with the same sound, it just hits the ear wrong and is sometimes hard to say.

Mallory was originally a surname and then more commonly a boy's name, if I recall correctly. I knew twin boys named Shannon and Mallory, once. I think the fact that the French version means "the unlucky one" is more unfortunate. Silly Hippie has a new favorite as of 19:56 on May 30, 2013 |

Some are like that because of a biblical reference, but some are just like that for whatever reason someone wanted them to mean that, I guess. There's a lot of "small," "weak," "lame," "jealous," "sad" connotation names. But yeah, a lot of lad names crossed over into lass names, at which point it becomes taboo to cross back unless the name endures across both genders like Sam or Alex. At least in the U.S., you will probably never come across a dude named Lynn, Kelly, or Brooke. (There's an H name too that used to be given to boys but now is given to girls, but I can't remember)

And I about fifteen female Ashleys and one male. My mom's name is Leslie, which is definitely a unisex name, although not terribly common for either men or women. I've only met two other Leslies over the years, one male and one female.

I went to high school with both a Richard Dick and a Richard Cox. I also knew a boy named Kelly Greene. A friend of mine worked at a daycare and the saddest name belonged to a boy who was the product of rape. His name was Natas...Satan backwards.

I don't know what's worse: The German casting horror show "Germany's Next Topmodel" or the name of this years winner's name: Lovelyn. I don't follow the show and that's why I don't know if theres a deep meaning behind the name, but it's horrible nonetheless.

I used to work at a staffing agency in Hawaii...came across a few interesting names. I should have wrote a list, because there were soooo many more than this and I can't remember some of the last names either: Easter Areola Twinkle Joy Juicy as a first name Raine Bowman I MEAN REALLY Precious Love which is just so and my sister, who got placed in a job by my agency, worked with a woman named Fanny Fiesta. I'm not sure if Fanny was short for anything, but saying that name always makes me smile. I worked with a Vietnamese guy whose name was Minh Ho. That's not the weird name, his uncle was Mai Phuc Dong which is just sort of unfortunate in an English-speaking country.

I poo poo you not, I once had a supply teacher who was called Christopher G. Rape. Yep, Mr. Rape. This was a handful of years ago so I obviously found this funny at the time (I would have been 12 maybe... not sure), but thinking back at it now, it must have been incredibly difficult to get a job in teaching knowing that you'll be referred to as Mr. Rape. I think I remember him saying how his family was French and that his surname was to be pronounced 'Rapé', which would make sense I suppose, but either way. So all credit to him. Can't remember too much about him as a person since, as I said, he was a supply teacher and therefor only had him the once. I swear to God this IS true.

Makes me think of Star Ocean 2, but that's only because my knowledge of Spanish Socialists from the 20th century is relatively sparse- that is to say, nonexistent until I googled "Indalecio" because I couldn't remember what game it was from. Also, being called "Brook" with no E would be weird.

Wish I remembered the whole thing but this one woman I was helping out had the "lets cram a bunch of names together!" Affliction. She had at least 5 names but the two I remember are "osama" and "Monday". I remember thinking that her parents must have hated her. On the flip side I met a woman named Elizabeth Royalty. At least not all unique names are bad. The wife also helped out a man named Rick Roll. Would have thought it a joke had it not been on his drivers license.
