Some of the fan illustrations of "Cecil" are bothering me. I never really had much of an image of what he looks like, in my head, until I saw the actual Cecil in that YouTube video for the live show. Those illustrations look nothing like him.

Eh, I don't mind how people depict characters when they exist as a voice in a podcast, or are described by a voice in a podcast. Woe be to those who cannot do justice to the perfection of Carlos, though.

It was interesting how everyone was drawing Carlos as white until the first person put it together that someone named Carlos who was living in the Southwest probably wasn't and drew him that way. Then it shifted and I haven't seen a white version of Carlos since.

Ahahaha Kevin in my head was this chubby, rosy-cheeked guy with curly hair, but sinister, like a grown-up horror movie creepy kid. I think I like real Kevin better. To me, Cecil was always shaved bald, thick rim black glasses, and a really circular face. Somewhere between the Dean from Community and and John Waters. I do really like the general "fan" take on him though. Carlos, as always, is perfect

It did not occur to me until just now that I had always imagined Cecil as looking like a gaunt version of Kevin, and I have no idea why. I will probably continue to imagine him this way, even though I know it's wrong.

I always imagined Cecil as a silhouette against a purple background, conveying his emotion through body language and the crescent moon shaped glint in his eye showing how his eyelids are positioned. I imagined Kevin the same way, except for one detail. No light reflected from the eyes, ever. Even when he's looking straight at a window, nothing.

One thing that comes across in a lot of fanart of Cecil is that he looks absolutely exhausted, with dark bags under his eyes. I think it really fits the way he sounds. The last episode (25) was particularly fantastic, by the way. Really touching. I hope this doesn't portend to Terrible Things happening to Carlos and his beautiful, perfect hair...

Perky, sure, but with some underlying weariness. Like my dad on a long drive trying to keep the mood cheerful, but if he runs into traffic then the veneer slips (that is, when Cecil starts laying into Steve or the Apache Tracker). Cheerfulness as a coping mechanism, perhaps, since so many horrible things happen in Night Vale - not to mention Cecil's own run-ins with re-education.

Hispanic, pretty nice black hair, 150 pounds, medium build, etc. Cecil probably just describes him as so amazing because of how infatuated he is.
