A couple of parodies, but mostly Progressive/Power Metal

The track "Please don't ever change the song" is an original I did to try and follow very old Whitesnake mixed with Joe Cocker... I think you'll hear it :)

I do everything, drums, vocals, guitars bla bla bla...

Really want a band, drat it.

Mostly electronic stuff. Been producing at the hobbyist level for two years, so there's a little of everything in there as I try to learn new styles. Lately it's techno stuff, I also have video game remixes, dubstep, Sleigh Bells and Silent Hill knock-offs, and I think some dramatic poetry readings of pop songs.

It's a lot of fun learning how to use this stuff; I think I'm gonna go hit up the beginner's thread before I bumble in any further.

No soundcloud yet, but I have some bandcamps!

I've recorded music for years, and in the past couple years decided to work on stuff that I could actually be proud of releasing online. I have one electronic project that is documenting my process of learning of electronic tools, which i'm happy to say was a minor sharing hit on what.cd :)

http://helixus.bandcamp.com/

And I record under another name that's hard to classify. It's a fusion of my love of indie rock, indie pop, singer/songwriter music, super psychedelic sounds, and post rock dynamics. I like quirky, spacy trippiness:

http://lucidus.bandcamp.com/

My current project is a soundtrack for a video game on the ipad and iphone which will be released next year sometime (ideally). It's a rhythm based rpg and a massive project requiring at least 3 hours of music and 3 hours of sound effects. It's a lifelong project that we're not getting paid for yet but I'm pretty excited about it!

Yeah I think I missed a couple opportunities with Pale Blue Dot; dropping some phat tribal bass for one, keep expecting it but it never comes.

I agree Nomad is way better. All in good fun though, still learning!

My SoundCloud for my current solo project Slothful Bong. Doom, Sludge, Stoner, a Prog Metal song or two, some Modern Metal tracks. Some of the tracks are tone tests for my NGDs/NPDs at sevenstring.org, others are full songs or ideas-in-progress.

I'm really proud of the newest one on there, "Descent". I tried some new mixing/mastering techniques (M-S EQ on the master bus mainly, I wanted to see how well it worked for something like this). It's also got some cool 5/4 riffs.

I created a soundcloud page yesterday to showcase my old instrumental music. Someone gave me a copy of Reason ten years ago and I have been making music with it ever since. The work on my page is from 2003-2008 - these are mp3s of rns files I lost when my computer was eaten a few years ago. For the most part, everything sounds majorly lo-fi.

Hi!

I've recently gotten back into composing orchestral soundtracks and themes, and dug up 5 of my previous efforts. Most of these were submitted along with my job application for a game called "The War Z". I never heard back from them, and the game bombed (or the developers were called out as scammers, or whatever).

These are my earliest efforts of making atmospheric/tense soundtracks and having started up again I'll be adding more stuff as time goes on.

Thanks for listening.

I'm teaching myself Ableton just for fun. I'm not a musician and I don't have any instruments other than a MIDI controller so I've been messing around with audio from video that I've ripped. I'm having fun learning the program, and I've been making some cool sounding (albeit pretty lovely) things that I've been trying to make spooky. I wanted to get some feedback on just the content of it, because while I'm not trying to make it sound the best I am trying to kind of create some sort of atmosphere.

Experimental, dancey, synthetic rock?

This is some stuff I've been messing around with in Ableton that I've been putting vocals to. I don't consider myself a singer or a lyricist but I'm just experimenting and trying to find my "voice". I could have spent some more time getting the vocal performances better but I've been getting discouraged lately. Any criticisms or comments, vocal or mix wise, would be much appreciated.

Hey, thanks a lot! I do appreciate the feedback. I do have a soundcloud but I haven't really been keeping up with it... (I may have posted it earlier in this very thread). Perhaps now I'll be motivated to upload my bandcamp stuff on there. Here's a new solo track that I've been describing as "doom-step" or "electro-folk". I produced it in Ableton Live and added vocals/acoustic guitar/misc synth parts after the fact with Reaper. I was definitely channeling Neil Young's "Will To Love" as if it was recorded for a modern sequel to Trans. It's a moody, synth driven track that I've been digging on a bit.
