god drat, one of us is the killer is a badass record. the whole taqwacore thing is pretty cool. i called up my pops (PERSIAN EMPIRE BABY), and he just grunted weird. "in my days, they'd have been shot. then again, i would also have been shot, so that's why i ran away. remember, killing people is not good. "wise words, dad."

Klaus Kinski posted:Defeater released a track from letters home. It won't embed for some reason: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=R7y-fGeNods I'm "meh" on it, but honestly I feel like every sneak peek track release I've heard for a while now has had no effect on me even though I end up liking the album. (Exception is that the Touche Amore sample from their new album makes me so loving pumped.) Inspector_666 fucked around with this message at 04:47 on Jun 5, 2013 |

New Boysetsfire leaked and is fuckin' rad. It'll hold me over until my preorder comes. After the Eulogy came out 13 years ago that makes me feel so old, it's my favorite album. edit-- Also, I'm looking for some recommendations of stuff that sounds like Document #8-era Pg.99. That's another one of my favorite albums, and I regret that I never branched out into much other screamo stuff back then. Count Thrashula fucked around with this message at 17:27 on Jun 7, 2013 |

Jimmy Eat World have been streaming their new album for a couple days now. It's every bit as wonderful as I was hoping, and easily their best since Futures. It's a bit mellow at times, but it works.

Anyone here listen to Adventures? They're an emo band with three members of Code Orange Kids, though you'd never notice that they're practically the same band. I'm listening to an advanced copy of their new EP and it's great, as was their debut EP.

Bloodkrow Butcher rules. Great band. East coast has been bumping with some seriously wild bands. Missing the Vaginors/Wastoids record release in Toronto tonight. Bummed. Also kind of just realized this thread existed, any southern Ontario goons that wanna holla? I'm based out of Kitchener.

Got to push out some South African hardcore, rad guys who have managed to put out the best hardcore the country has seen. A nice change from the usual post-hardcore that is done here. They started out doing some very crossover type stuff, but have since adapted some more sludge elements into some of the tracks. Fast, aggressive, raw and short... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKiDt8Gxrhg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lCRdzRfFgA

I endured the Orpheum in Tampa last night to catch Dad Punchers, Pianos Become the Teeth, and Tigers Jaw. I was there mostly for Pianos, and I was supremely satisfied. Wanted to stop in and thank this thread for getting me hooked on them. BTW, Dad Punchers are pretty good.

Yup, saw them in London a few months back to ....great little punk pop band there was a moment where I was walking down the stairs in the pub/venue and the whole band surrounded me on the way to the stage .....those masks are pretty terrifying!

I had to babysit a building while some guys were having a show the other night, and the headlining band was Seaway from Canada. Pop punk isn't normally my thing, but I really dug them. http://seawayoakville.bandcamp.com/ - the 7" split is pretty solid.

It's ridiculously solid three chord pop-punk. Their live show is amazing too. When I saw them they had a friend with them dressed like a cop in bike shorts who jumped off the stage during like the third song and started a giant pushpit while Yellow sang I Don't Want to Lose Your Love. They were playing with Teenage Bottlerocket and The Queers, two of my favorite bands to see, and easily blew them both away.

I really, really, really want to go to The World is a Beautiful Place.../Pity Sex/Dads show tomorrow in Tampa but I swore I wouldn't go to any shows other than Pre-Fest this year to save money. This is really testing me though. American Radass was basically my favorite CD of last year, the new TWIABP&IANLATD album is so good, and all of the new Pity Sex songs I've heard so far are awesome. This is a problem.

I've seen TWIABP 10 times now and I'll still drive 2 hours to go see them when I can (REALLY hope to get out to the record release show). I don't know your situation and I know I've been in places in my life where I couldn't drop $8-10 for a show, but their shows usually are just that, $8-10. Of course, they'll both (I think, not sure about Dads) be at Fest this year, but I'm sure they'll play longer on the non-Fest show. Go see them and let me know how awesome poo poo Twins and Getting Sodas are live.

PrinceRandom posted:I was listening to RIVIR recently, and I was wondering how many other Hardcore bands out there with female vocalists and/or musicians are there? Off the top of my head I can only think of Punch and Code Orange Kids as far as vocals. Most Precious Blood had a female guitarist. Same with Kylesa, but they're more metal I guess.

Vowel has a violin, and they are pretty bitchin. I also just googled and stumbled upon http://crustwithstrings.blogspot.com/ there's probably some interesting stuff there if you want to dig through some bands. E: Also it's only one song, but Drag Blood by Comadre has what i believe is a trumpet and the song owns, but you should already know that because everyone here should already be listening to Comadre.
