Something that I keep wanting to analyze, but always forget about, is the sheer bulkiness of the Characters.

Even Chin Chin says that during the walk on the bubble way that he weighs close to a ton, It makes you wonder how some of these characters are able to use furniture after filling their bodies to make use of the insane abilities that they produce.

I would also be interested to know what these other characters (villians especially) have done for training purposes to stand up against things like "food honor" and such. It seems now that both sides (all three sides?) are capable of producing troops that can produce food honor-like powers.

Do they keep up sheerly by being able to eat gourmet world food, and evolve further than Toriko and Co have (with exception to Zebra, who seems to be in a league all his own)?

This last chapter... just... wow. I was surprised that him being amputated was an actual thing. That turnaround sequence at the, "Who's there?". Priceless

That said, Can we go to Gourmet world and eat some beasts?

How soon do we forget that tommyrod blasted away Toriko's arm a long time ago? not even amputated he completely destroyed it up to the shoulder piece by piece, it being in two pieces should be comparitively easy to fix

Well no, I didn't forget, but being Amputated (of all 4 limbs is 4 times more terrible I was mistaken, his left leg and right arm are still in tact) than what happened back in Ice Hell to both combatants.

Though I guess since Sani's hair ate Tommy all things considered this is tamer by default.

I dont even understand how powerful people are supposed to be anymore. Just like an arc or two ago it took Toriko everything to do like a double 36 nail punch and now hes making suits of god drat armor out of hungry and literal knife laser beams made of hungry and like 70x nail punch over and over.

Pretty soon Toriko is gonna eat the whole world and we'll be like "that makes sense".

Toriko will master imagery so much that he'll be able to literally imagine food into existence and eat it.

The one thing I'm wondering about is that we are getting Toriko's fight before Coco's.

Isn't it pretty much an unwritten rule in Jump that the main character's fight goes last? Are they just going to skip over Coco's?

At some points I'm not even sure Toriko is supposed to be our main protagonist - I think it's supposed to be all four kings and Komatsu. Toriko isn't the strongest is the group, it doesn't look like he's getting the last fight, and does he even get the most screentime? From what I recall the kings get pretty much the same exposure, backstory, and relevance to the plot equally.

He also DEFINITELY gets more screentime than the others. The only time the other kings are even in the plot is when Toriko is also around, and Toriko has his own arcs with just Komatsu. I dont know how anyone could argue that the kings all get equal screentime.

Ever since the kings were introduced they have been more or less special guest stars as Toriko and Komatsu dine around the world and kill big beasties.

...Except here in this arc.

Y'know, I hope Komatsu becomes so good with that knife he can cut someone SO WELL that they're not even dead. Basically I want to the end of the manga to be Komatsu preparing Dark Chef Joa into GOD and that he becomes a good guy and it ends with 5 chapters of everyone just eating.
The past chapters/exposition on God did show that when Acacia prepped it for all the warlords and political leaders, they all immediately stopped fighting because God was so delicious. I could see Komatsu preparing God (IMBUED WITH LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP) for everybody, leading to the end of the conflict.

Maybe we could have a twist where one of the Bishokukai chefs (like Take, Komatsu's kidnapped chef friend who showed up in the Food Honor arc with those scars) is able to successfully prepare God, and presents it to Midora/whoever. BUT WAIT. You actually have to prep it with love/friendship/appreciation for it to actually become God. Without those, it is the dish Satan, and while it is delicious, it does not offer the same level of satisfaction as God. Then Komatsu comes out and prepares it with all his love, and the dish does that ~sparkle~ thing where the characters all look at it with awe with shining lights reflected in their eyes. And Komatsu has done it. He has prepared the true God. And everybody ate it and was happy. The end.

I don't get these complaints.

The whole imagery thing really is just an extension of what's been happening literally since the manga began. This is from chapter 2:

The idea of being so powerful wanting to eat something so badly you can intimidate lesser creatures into running away isn't something new. All that's happening now is that we're expanding on this idea and honing it, so instead of a general aura of Eat Food it's now something you can focus. The animals running away in those pages could sense that there was something on the island so hungry that they felt they needed to escape immediately. Now we're turning that same concept, refining and concentrating it so instead of scaring people with your aura of Eat Food you're scaring them with the thoughts of how you're going to eat them, focusing it and messing with their head so things happen exactly as you want them to happen.

The whole thing basically comes down to a match of dominance, the manly man that manages to dominate and simply has a greater will to win than the other manly muscle man will win the fight. Like we saw a chapter or two ago, the manly muscle man with the weaker will to dominate will simply have his images of winning (his domination) crushed by his opponent. I'd be glad if the manga made more separation between what is an image and what's real, but honestly it hasn't mattered yet and I don't think it will in the future. If you see something, just assume that's what's actually happening until it's proven wrong.

It has gone from a nifty intimdation power hulk out feeling to "What the battle is about"

It's almost like they're just standing there, having a shouting match between each other for who's image was realer than the others. Basically like how children imagine playing a game where their fingers are guns.

In the example I gave, it is literally, "I got you!"/"No I got you first".

It is literally down to who can imagine better than the next person.

Starjyun lopped off Toriko's leg, simply because he imagined that Toriko would cut his kitchen knife in half. Toriko didn't win the fight becuase he didn't imagine better.

Which would have been fine if the manga had taken serious time to establish Starjun as some absolute rival who Toriko has deep seeded reasons to have a hate/respect relationship with. Basically gently caress the special attacks, let's just punch each other to death while grinning.

I think everyone here feels the same way by now. Toriko works infinitely better when he's fighting his next meal, or someone insanely interesting like Tommyrod.

How do they use furniture? That is an easy one. They only use furniture that is made from high level ingredients, though not necessarily the edible parts of said ingredients.
