Before someone goes off on how I'm full of poo poo and the choices were very clear, I'm talking about pubbies here; pubbies are going to make the 'evil' choice at 1 and 3 because there is no way they could stumble onto the 'good' actions (unless I'm underestimating the number of people that fell asleep with auto-run on at the first choice). I'd say it's actually more poetic if the reason Tokyo is hosed is because people are stupid.

It may just be a matter of finding builds that work better post-patch, but this patch seems to have hit my DPS pretty hard. It turns 18s into a slog, so if we can't find better-performing ways to do this my interest in continuing the grind gets hit pretty hard too.

There's a lot of changes in those notes, but I don't think any of them are particularly huge deals. The signets were, but those were almost all upwards adjustments.

I'm not sure. The obvious one is Extra Bullet, which I replaced after some discussion with Hugh, but I wouldn't have expected it to drop that much. I don't know what else is going on.

The second point would also affect three-round burst and shootout (and the business?) in addition to safety off. Extra bullet was a huge passive so this is a big nerf to AR dps. Smith Comma John posted:Not sure how much the second change affects pistol dps overall. Probably a lot, almost every Pistols ability worth using is multi-hit. This is probably a big part of why AR parsed so well (and Pistols similarly, albeit less so), so it'll hurt a lot of DPS.

IMPORTANT THING I JUST CHECKED: Signet of Fury no longer counts up for every hit of a multi-hit ability. Nothing of the like was mentioned in the patch notes, so I'm assuming this is actually a bug of some kind. I'll float the question over at the forums.

That has squeezed some tears from pistol users. Only thing I noticed myself was Fatal Flourish being changed from pen rating bonus to a flat one penetration per 8 afflictions. Forgot what exactly, but that's no big deal, it did fly off my passive bar though.

After having re-installed Age of Conan and deleting it after minutes of playing, I think it is time to test something new. Despite produced by Failcom, TSW has gotten many good reviews. I am looking for a mature, mystic and not-standard-wow-quest&class-style-MMO. After reading the fellow goons postings here I get the impression that TSW might be the right choice now for a long free poopsocking weekend. It was a bug that it wasn't affected by the global cool down, it was fixed. And the ele force losing double crits but working correctly for focusthe attacks is what is pushing pistol users above AR, a full crit shoot out is just stupid damage. I'm still checking; The Business now only procs it once, Shootout two to three times (it's inconsistent, but according to the tooltip text on the ability it should be proccing five times), Gun Crazy three times, and Safety Off once both with and without Extra Bullet. I've lost damage while tanking when the only thing affected by the patch were the signet changes. I'm pretty drat sure its a server/performance issue rather than numbers. Reinstall TSW every patch. So I wasn't really feeling this game at first, but after doing my first solo "stealth mission" escorting some blonde girl through a bunch of puzzles in a sewer tunnel, I think I've fallen for it. It's definitely starting to grow on me as I unlock my skills, it just starts off really slow. Time to kill a bunch of named zombies and find some missing people! I chose fist/chaos off of some 60 point guide I found, and so far it's working quite well. Escalate/Eris/Hog Wild take care of most mobs so far. I guess I should also mention, the story/cutscenes are pretty great as well. They make SWTOR voice acting/storylines look amateur. I also really enjoy the slightly more open world aspect, i've just been running around doing random quests without even realizing ive probably skipped half the quests in another area. I have a hard time imagining how someone would accidently gently caress up Tokyo because they didn't know what to do when they just did it twice already. Path of least resistance would seem to be saving the world in this case. I actually wanted to ask... am I the only one who solved it three times within a few minutes each just by clicking randomly? I looked up a walkthrough after and have no idea what that person was talking about. <- Saver of the world HughGRect posted:Bags of Ethereal Gambit are live, so go waste your sequins on them. Yess. No, Seoul is useless unless you have to go there for a mission. Sorry if you're dragon. I did read about a lot of people who barely managed to fix the first machines, and completely gave up on the last one and took the easy way out. I guess in some way that is a pretty good, if meta justification. But it does beg the question, how worthwhile is it to base future game development on whether or not you pissed off enough of your players with certain game mechanics.

To me it seemed like the Flith/No filth quest solutions where just funcom's way of saying gently caress all those people that don't read our quests and pay attention to all the awesome poo poo we put in our dungeons. If you spent just a tiny bit of time in the quests and paid attention to all the poo poo happening, it was blatantly obvious that there was always another solution besides what the filth was offering. I am loving TERRIBLE at puzzle quests, and I had no problems finishing all 3 of the choices the non-filth way. I actually thought they were really clever, requiring you to think for a minute instead of just blindly running through the quests. The first choice had me a little nervous since I had nothing else to go on other than the ghost of the previous person jumping off; but since all the previous missions had shown that I was effectively immortal, I figured what's the worst that can happen if I'm wrong, I replay the running down the tunnel bit. The final puzzle was also fun, even though I'm sure most puzzle lovers thought it was way too easy. By that point I knew I didn't want to accept the crazy filth solution and just spent a little bit of time figuring out what else could be done. That being said, listening to the number of goons that just said they face-rolled through the content and picked the easy filth choice, and then the people that consciously picked the filth choice over the other option; I'd say that 80% of goons so far have picked the filth choice. I really doubt we'll get anything but the very worst option that Tokyo has to offer. Thanks for completely destroying Tokyo you jerks!

This is actually what you're meant to do. One of the design goals for the game was to avoid the standard MMO "quest hub" design and instead always have something new to do near the end of whatever you just finished doing. They reportedly took it seriously enough that play testers were instructed to report the absence of such a nearby quest as a bug.

There are a few areas in which that doesn't work (but most then end not too far from another major mission dispenser NPC). It's really refreshing. I also liked the exploration element there is to this design - the first time I ran through the zones I accidentally missed quite a few optional missions even though I didn't mean to "skip content".
