My non-US friend gifted my BNW and now I think I can't play it until the worldwide release date.

Well, that's what manual tile buying is for. If it really gets you all bent out of shape, adopt Tradition, your borders expand way faster and fill in better.

I'm aware of buying tiles and using Tradition. It is frustrating, in the early game, when I really want that luxury one tile away and it grabs the bananas in the jungle I can't get to yet via tech. Need that money for settlers not tiles!!

So started my new game, playing as Arabia to buck the trend and let everyone else try out Venice first. Good to know the world gen is still capable of spitting out gems like these. I know where my first settler is going.

In and started a game as Shoshone. Their scouts have a special ability that allows you to choose what you receive when you uncover ancient ruins. The scouts upgrade directly to Composite Bowmen.

I am finally getting better at NOT doing that but still Apparently no 3rd party site like GMG/whatever besides Steam has keys yet. Interesting

e: Scout ^^ I really don't care if I wait until noon tomorrow or whatever for my GMG key, but I do echo the sentiment that it just being blank where it should say the release date caused me a little concern. What I mean to say is that if I don't receive my key within 20 seconds I'm filing a class action lawsuit against GMG.

You can get a windmill later on though if you don't settle on the hill, and the floodplain is a perfectly fine tile to settle on. Especially with all those growth bonuses.

Unsurprisingly they closed off the instant selling of luxuries and embassies to the AI for easy gold in the early game. They all now require declaration of friendship for lump sum trades. You can do gold per turn without them but everyone makes zero money at the start so that's non-ideal. Kind of a interesting way of addressing that AI loop hole in the early game.

First, it looks like you need to build a caravan unit. It should be an option alongside warriors and such. Then you click on the caravan and a menu with destination cities shows up? I don't have my copy of the game yet. (Preordered a physical copy, waiting for it to be delivered. Last time I ever do that)
