Any Canadian goons looking to trade for some US beers? Would love to get my hands on Armand & Tommy (Drie Fonteinen), Fou Foune, Saint Lamvinus, and any of the Lou Pepes. I know they're a bit easier to get up north.

Hey guys, I am looking for any fruited new glarus beers. Serendipity, Belgian Red, whatever. Its for a friend of mine as a gift becaus eI know he loves that stuff. Looking for like maybe 2-4 bottles and willing to do a $4$ trade with whatever I can get that you can't. I live in South Florida, so I can get Cigar City (excpet Jai Alai for some reason because apparently it has just evaporated, maybe in a few weeks) or a growler of some Funky Buddha stuff or whatever else we get that you don't.

I might actually have a New Glarus gift box in my basement. Has room for two bottles of sserendipity/raspberry tart, and two new Glarus logo'd flutes. Problem is, I took the bottles out of it and would need to replace them so it might take a bit to line up a trade.

Just wanted to say that swickles is both a legit and fair trader. He shipped as quickly as he could (despite Fedex bullshit) and was easy to work with.

FedEx tried to hold the package hostage and charge me to repack it saying the box had too much tape on it. It was pretty lovely. PP's box was pretty kickin rad as well!

Podima posted:Out of curiosity in case I ever run into the same situation, how'd you end up dealing with that? I told them I would just repackage it myself. I took it to a different location and they had no problem with it. They were basically just trying to get me to pay them to to package it or put it in another box for the low low cost of 20 bucks. The irony is that it was the same box that Paul Proteus shipped to me via FedEx a week earlier. It probably won't happen to you, this location is notoriously bad that when I looked it up online to find exactly where it is, all the reviews said to avoid it like the plague. Should have listened, but I thought what problems could there be by just dropping off a box?!

i run a UPS Store and i've never heard of "too much tape." if they feel that the box is in bad shape, they can certainly advise you to use another box, but beyond that their only responsibility is to inform you that they will not be liable for damage to a customer-packed item. but yeah, that's an unlikely scenario at an obviously ill-run location. also, i fix up people's lovely packing all the time (unless they're dicks), but i'm a nice guy, so don't count on that happening.

I'm still trying to make heads or tails out of all of this stuff. Sorry/thanks. Once you find out who you are shipping to, ask some local goons via PM or e-mail what they recommend. Philly gets a poo poo ton of great stuff in their distribution. If you are having trouble finding good stores, someone here can suggest some I am sure.

I'm still trying to make heads or tails out of all of this stuff. Sorry/thanks. As Swickles (good trader!) points out, you live in a really good beer city. It would be cheaper and probably more helpful in the long run if you focused locally. Especially in a city ripe with choices it's intimidating so the best advice I can give is to find a place that has a lot on tap and have a few. Take notes. Untappd is a good app for it. Note styles and breweries that you like. Fact: you can't learn without drinking. Another thing against you is your state's hosed up liquor laws. If you can get to NJ or something, find a shop that will sell single bottles. It ends up pricier, but variety = more data points.

Otherwise, its to your advantage to have to sell by the case. I have definitely been to a couple bottle shops in Pittsburgh. It could also be that they are considered bars, where you can buy beers by the bottle or the six pack, even if you only have a small two seat bar that no one ever actually drinks at.

Any place that sells beer for consumption on the premises can sell beer to go, subject to a limit of 192 fluid ounces/transaction. Distributors have to sell by the case. http://pennsylvanialiquorlicense.com/typesoflicenses.asp Advice: hit the bottle shop at Local 44. Capone's and Pinocchio's are also fairly ridiculous but they're not exactly in the city. If you want to take a trip, drive down 95 and hit State Line Liquors in Elkton. And there's the goon beer wiki. Phanatic fucked around with this message at 15:33 on Jun 18, 2013 |

Yesterday Troegs announced that they were doing a limited release of Triple Mango IPA in bottles. The timing was pretty much perfect since I had the day off and I'd never been to the brewery before. This led to me saying "gently caress it" and driving 2 hours each way to buy beer. I just got home with two cases; plan on drinking one and trading the rest. Figured I'd offer it up to anyone here first. It's a super big beer at 11.3% but the alcohol doesn't take center stage. Instead it's like a grapefruit and a bunch of mangoes decided to punch your tongue to death. There's a slight pine bitterness after the initial tropical/citrus hit and then it fades into an almost spicy black pepper thing. It's definitely a palate wrecker, but it's god drat delicious. Anyone interested? I'm mostly looking for things we can't get in PA, NJ or DE. Zombie Dust would be awesome if someone could hook that up. But i'm pretty much open to anything. And if anyone local wants to do an in person that's fine too. I'm open to pretty much anything.
