I guess the Iowa supreme court today ruled that an employer can fire a woman for being too hot. http://reason.com/24-7/2013/07/12/iowa-supreme-court-stands-by-ruling-okay Rush not only seemed to be siding with the woman here, which flies in the face of "right to work" laws and all that right wing horse poo poo, but he went into this thing where I guess he thinks feminists will be applauding this decision "because feminism at its core only exists to level the playing field between good looking women and ugly ones." Not being hyperbolic here or making this up. I forgot my 2 year old was in the car and muttered "what a dick" as I shut if off. Guess what my son said right after that? My boy is smart.

Maybe it's just that being called mean names and people not making a stink about it isn't all that big of a deal against the entire backdrop of what minorities deal with on a day to day basis for their entire lives. I hate to imply the whole thing is a fight but the best way I can put it is that it's a battle that was lost in a war white people won long ago and complaining about it makes it sound like you need your cake and want to eat it too. Again, in the end I don't think it's ever a good thing to be calling people names based on their race, but that's my take on why no one cares that someone called you a cracker. It's like, if you get insulted by a little kid. If a 5 year old kid called you a motherfucking oval office, there's no way you'd be offended. You'd find it cute or funny. That's because that kid is powerless compared to you, he can't do poo poo except say a word so there's no bigger implication. That's what it's like to be called cracker as a straight, white male in this country. If you were called a motherfucking oval office by your physically abusive dad, there is a bigger implication and it turns the insult in a completely different direction. The relationship is different and the historical behavior of the person saying that poo poo is different, which is enough to cause alarms when you hear those words.
