The difference was like night and day and I did this back in 1993 before it was cool.

Yo, is Bahamut Lagoon a repro? Would you mind taking photos of the cover? I've got a few repro carts, mostly RPGs that didn't come out in English, and don't know how best to display them. Speaking of which, I don't actually see Front mission in there. If you're into SRPGs, it's the absolute tits and I absolutely recommend it to everyone. If you're looking for a quick bash and don't care about the story, it's 100% playable on the japanese cart, since all the menus are still in English. It was cheaper to buy the Japanese cart for a dollar and use an online English guide to play through it. I've got the original Front Mission but I bought that on the DS. I cleaned the contacts and tried it out for a bit in the Famiclone, and I'm definitely seeing the Zelda II similarity; yet, it seems to have its own potential, nonetheless.

Majority of the time poo poo was going for less than 5 dollars and I'm paying cents for entire games even before the Buy 2 Get 2. I picked up Summoner 2: A Goddess Reborn, Lost Kingdoms 2, Evolution Worlds, Eternal Darkness, Twilight princess and a slew of others all in a single go. They were even getting rid of the Gamecube Demo Discs like the Pokémon Stadium one with Jirachi, Resident Evil 4 demo discs, the Star Wars Demo Disc, were all something like 15-25 cents after the discount. I have to say that as a musician I've always found video game music fascinating. It might be personal bias since there was a period of my adolesecent life where I only listened to videogame music, but the stuff composers were able to do with soundchips back in the day is pretty amazing.

Unrelated: I'm absolutely in love with my Sharp Twin Fami. Although I've been bemoaning the composite video quality in it's natural state (I opted to get a sleek red console as opposed to one with SVideo, which I learned about later), I am excited to potentially have an awesome original Nintendo console that works amazingly (assuming the incoming NES->Famicom converter I have coming works better than the current one I have.) But really, the Disk novelty just amazes me. I grabbed a copy of Kid Icarus on disk and I can't believe this poo poo still works. It clunks a lot, but the fact that I am running a game off of a 3.5" floppy just makes me so giddy. Are there any recommendations for games I should get that run off disk? I just grabbed SMB2-JP. Thinking about watching for the obvious Metroid and Zelda grabs. Is there anything else I should be looking for?

Some good FDS games are Meikyuu Jiin Dababa, Bubble Bobble, Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa, Nazo no Kabe: Block-kuzushi and Nazo no Murasame Jō. Those are ones I own, so I can't think of any more.

The French versions, which are still easily obtained in Canada, and can be an odd "get this game cheaper" strategy on rare occasions.In fact, this is probably the cheapest way to get replacement Poke-walkers

If you're looking for FDS games I have a few still kicking it in my drawer and no FDS. Castlevania I (Castlevania with saving), Zelda II (http://tcrf.net/Zelda_II:_The_Adventure_of_Link#Regional_differences), Xevious/Ice Climbers (Ice Climbers is a port of Vs Ice Climbers) and SMB1/2 Castlevania & Zelda II have cases with the spine, other two have cases but no spine.

For a second I was like  How can you have SFC FF IV and VI but not V? Then I saw the UGC. I believe it's relatively common, and it's one of the best things on the FDS to never get brought stateside.
