I've bought every X game because every new one keeps looking radder than the last and then I just get scared by the commitment and barely put more than a couple hours into them. It's kind of like a singleplayer version of EVE but not nearly as lame

I played the hell out of X2 and X3. I never finished the storylines in eighter beacuse faffing about doing other stuff was just so much more interesting. I love huge sandboxes. The problem was the lovely UIs and the broken economies, if they've adressed those it'll be great. An Elite-clone the way it should be. Oh, and hope it's more moddable than X2 and X3... Eh, I'll probably buy it regardless.

X3 was cool but much too open for my tastes. I need a more guided kind of game. It's why I liked Witcher 2 much more than Skyrim.

I can dig it. We'll see how capital ship fights play out once the game is released. It's huge and it looks like there's plenty to do, and I hope the learning curve isn't as bad as X3 where you either get frustrated figuring out poo poo or the size of the sandbox (as stated before) is too daunting. We'll see. End of the day, I wish we could have another RTS space game like Homeworld. It didn't have the same sense of scale but it was fun as hell. E: holocaust bloopers posted:Homeworld owned.

Just hope they would change the enemy fleet scaling to something balanced for the remake. Even if you modified save files to cheat in a hilariously giant fleet, you were always outnumbered due to scaling.

Homeworld owns bones and I would play the poo poo out of an HD remake. That X game looks pretty sweet. Star Citizen has the potential to be everything I ever wanted in a game but runs the risk of feature creep/being vaporware. That said I pledged towards it.
