DreamShipWrecked posted:Should note for anyone coming fresh into the game, the real battle is not trying to kill all the cops, but to accomplish your objective before you run out of bullets. You live and die by your ammo. So if the videos on youtube previewing the game are any indication, this game is going to be hilarious to watch newbies play. Case in point, this video I stumbled across: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QG2pZSFFMg You've got one guy pulling a perpetual Leeroy Jenkins in the wrong direction, another guy freaking out and advocating abandoning the mission objective as he gets shot to pieces, and general chaos everywhere as the whole thing slowly goes to poo poo over the course of two missions. It looks loving amazing. Archonex fucked around with this message at 06:28 on Aug 13, 2013 |

There's nothing like the feeling you have when you mask up in the back of the building when everything's still quiet and you're creeping around a corner to subdue a guard, and there's no rush quite like the one that happens when you're tiptoeing around and someone trips the alarm and suddenly everyone's calling audibles and adjusting to the upcoming assault. You get that feeling every goddamn round. I loving love this game. OP posted:Please use a mic if you have one Can't stress this enough. dreffen posted:Mastermind The Mastermind has the Medic Bag because sometimes the dumb idiots you're ordering around don't listen and get hurt, so you need to be ready to make their physical booboos better just like you do with their tactical ones. I cannot wait to play this with Goons and my friends. Just from the limited time I've had playing the beta, Payday 2 is going to be a lot of fun in any sort of coordinating group. It really is amazing just how much this game leaves Payday 1 in the dust, from the wider variety of jobs to the heavily improved levelling system.

These guys really nailed the feel of the game. I think they were 80% of the way to Heat: The Game, with the first release. Now though, they really hit the mark. I'm assuming that they watched Heat, and Point Break about 100 times during production.

One of my roomates was talking payday 2 up really hard yesterday and I blew him off. This thread made me check it out 20 minutes ago and now, as soon as I get off work in two hours, I will go home and buy it. Hopefully i'll play with some of you guys at release time. I'm going in lljk.

Derek Dominoe posted:Thanks for the feedback! I wasn't necessarily going for Doomguy. My original plan was Mastermind + Technician, but the guys I mostly play with already have Mastermind and Ghost well-covered. I was going more for "guy who can open anything, and silently if necessary, and then provides cover when things get noisy". My main motivation for the trip mine tree was actually the shaped charges. I figure I can pick, saw, drill, blast, or even shotgun open anything while providing solid combat support. Or are the shaped charges redundant with the saw? If that's the case, I'll probably abandon the trip mines altogether. Check your volume mixer if mics are not working.

Less than three hours to go! I went full Ghost in beta but using skill planners, Mastermind and Technician seem way more generally useful.

I understand that there are times and circumstances where you can't use your mic but just use your mic if you can folks. It's that much quicker and handier.

If anyone is going halfway into Mastermind, please take Dominator and bind F to LMB, for the opportunity to turn the game into a side story of 50 Cent Blood in the Sand. Curse at cops while shooting them enough times and they get so ashamed they give up. Let a Mastermind use Joker on all the surrendered cops. What are the stats on Joker? One convert at a time? So I'm going to be mainly playing with a friend of mine and he told me he was going mastermind primarily. I'm probably going mainly enforcer to cover the stuff he doesn't but technician looked great as well. I wanted some additional info about the saw because it looks interesting but I hadn't the chance to test it obviously. As I understand the saw is your primary but can you actually kill with it or do you use your secondary to kill and the saw is just to open doors and atms? Any other suggestions for a good duo with mastermind?

Payday doesn't really evoke feelings of pathos for anyone whenever I play it, it makes me want to recreate Heat. poo poo, I wish the game didn't count off for collateral damage. If anything, they should have just amped up the "bad-dudeness" of the game, like the trailers for Kane & Lynch... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfMBFpPbHDc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIhHTCOk-7U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4SzPdjgKOA The game might be bad, but those trailers made you want to play that game.

Le0 posted:So I'm going to be mainly playing with a friend of mine and he told me he was going mastermind primarily. Yes,, you can kill with the saw. You will burn through blades though and you need to be in melee range. That said it shouldn't matter since you have a sidearm and you typically bring a saw when you plan to be leaving without a big battle. Mastermind is great with an enforcer and mixed groups are the best.

This is the build I'm thinking (72MM/48EN): http://www.pd2skills.info/profile/bestestiest/ pistol messiah (res on pistol kill), inspire (remote res) and joker (convert), all the op tier bonuses in enforcer, double doctor bags, shotgun, saw. So, I went with 11MM/81EN/6TC/22GH, with Cat Burglar, Sprinter, Endurance, Rifleman aced; the Enforcer middle tree completely aced, the Enforcer strength tree aced up to Tough Guy, then owned up the Carbon Blade.

A mate and I just theorycrafted out the perfect group and the results are in: 3x Mastermind/Enforcer with 0 pts in Ghost/Tech 1 guy who has 6 Mastermind for the XP bonus, 47 Enforcer for the ballistic vest and loads of Tech for Bulletproof. Ghost is beyond useless. The only thing you need to do a stealth run is a silencer on your starter pistol and the ten cable ties in Mastermind
