as someone who doesn't really need to dress up, this has to be the most expensive way to make your shirt look good for people who really aren't going to give a gently caress

Sweevo posted:wtf is a collar stay? dress shirts are not supposed to have button-down collars -- that's low-class. so in order to keep the collar points where they're supposed to be, you stick little pointy things in the "pocket" underneath the end of the collar. those are collar stays

so why does it need to be adjustable seriously how is this in any way necessary or even worthwhile and if it is how come it's taken until the year of our dark lord 2013 for someone to finally get this right also lol @ all the goonlords here who don't know what collar stays are Sham bam bamina! fucked around with this message at 19:25 on Aug 16, 2013 |

no fuckin clue why you would need adjustable stays i've got a collection from a bajillion brands and they're all the exact same only difference is some are wider than others but the length is always the same and if you don't use stays you either a) dress like a goon dick or b) don't have a real dress code at your job

Sham bam bamina! posted:also lol @ all the goonlords here who don't know what collar stays are REAL dress shirts are collarless and you wear them with a detachable collar - which is starched. sticking toothpicks into your "classy" shirt is like turning up at a black tie dinner in a clip-on bow tie
