Bottom Liner posted:Your posts, 0.0% return to reader. I'm sorry to disagree, but not really. We let people advertise their "regular" games all the time. A slot machine game that is literally a slot machine is way better than one that gives you worthless free coins, (which you lose) and then encourages you to actually buy more worthless coins. Or more time, or more turns, or whatever the hook is. I honestly don't get why you're so bent out of shape about it.

I was really enjoying The Room until I ran across the puzzle with the orbs. Unfair and immersion-breaking! It makes no sense to be able to move them around with my ipad's accelerometer and not by touching them directly.

So what happens when someone breaks the bank on one of those slot machine apps (whether legitmately or otherwise) and before they can cash out the server has an 'accident' and whoops your victory was lost?

You do understand that there is no incentive to cheat if you're the house, right? Given the law of averages AND the system which places limits on the wagers, the house is absolutely guaranteed to win. Let me repeat that: If you run a square house, you make out like a bandit. Those Multi-million dollar progressive payout machines are operated on a consortium basis - every club that owns one (they own a bunch) gets a cut of profits and no one owner is on the hook for millions the one time one of the 1000 machines actually hits. This is explained on the fine print somewhere on the machine.

Shalinor posted:I also found it dull. The exploration was severely hampered by being designed to try and appeal to the Angry Birds audience. The game they had, stripped of the hand-holding, designed for core game players instead of each screen being like a mini "get 3 stars!" puzzle, would have been fantastic. Alas, that wasn't what they did with it. I grabbed it anyway since it was so cheap and yeah, the 'mystery' of exploring the caves of Mars is completely undermined by constantly repeated 'do this thing to remove barrier' and two people chatting about being the first person to do this like it just doesn't register how important it would actually be. I sort of imagined some moody, lonely descent into the caverns with an increasing sense of danger. Instead I get mission control cheerily telling me I'm doing great while I hurl seed pods around with no sense of purpose. But eh, it was £1.49 so whatever.

Junk Jack X had a much better control scheme on a touch interface but more or less jjx is just for building stuff not a castlevania adventure or rpg. It's slow because there is no end goal other than build your house and explore everything.

I wasn't really expecting an adventuring type deal, it's just so slow to progress. It literally took me like 5 hours to get enough materials to make a house and a bed.

Why doesnt anyone release an emulator if the gimmick is that you have buy a gba to iphone apapter. Or like since its legal to make a digital backup, lets you backup your games to a computer based app thats a library to play on the phone.

Tried some Battle Camp. It's basically PaD with some nice polish. I don't like many things about it though, like how you can only do 5 things before your Energy runs out and you have to wait 50 minutes for it to regenerate. That's dumb. Also, they don't give out the premium coins afaik so its already worse than PaD which at least gives them out during certain events. I'll probably try it for another day before I delete it.

What I did first before anything was generate a few different worlds and go through them chopping down a bunch of trees and digging up buried crates. Once night hit, I'd delete that world and start a new one. You get recipes as random drops from breaking blocks, so trees are a good source.
