They say, "you mean it's just sounds?" thinking that for something to just be a sound is to be useless, whereas I love sounds just as they are, and I have no need for them to be anything more than what they are.

A picture of someone's back with a telephoto lens is babby's first street photo, that's why.

Usually it would have been better with an engaged subject. Backs of heads denotes babbies first street photo usually using a 600mm F4 because goons are not good at people.

Mostly its just because people are afraid to either ask to take someones picture or are afraid to take pics of people without permission (IANAL- which doesn't matter on public streets, YMMV, CHECK YOUR LOCAL, STATE, COUNTRIES LAWS. ONE PARTY STATES IN THE USA, KEEP ON KEEPIN ON).

My town had a small Blues & BBQ contest. Had a lot of fun, and got a lot of great pictures.

My three best.

I shot the whole day in Aperture mode, I can't feel I did any better and, quite frankly, I'd rather shoot in Shutter mode. At least with, musicians and dancing fans. I'd rather want the ability to manage motion blur, over f-stop or depth of field.

I also think it depends on the circumstances on what you are photographing. Que Sera, Sera.

Does your copy of LR have its own red saturation slider set to 1000?

And in all honesty, your pics are over saturated in the red channel and what I gave you was a tip, tone it down. Feel free to be more constructive of your opinion of the shots of mine you posted. I understand you dont get em, so feel free to ask :snoop:

Perhaps it's in part to being there at the time it was shot, but it seems peaceful to me. She was 10~ feet from the entrance to her apartment building on a super busy street corner, taking a nap in the sun. She could have been sitting on the porch of a country home she seemed so comfortable with her surroundings.

I understand how it could be taken explotative now that I think about that and look at it more, that just didn't come immediately to mind. She is obviously not a bum, she had nice shoes and a nice bag, had make-up on, etc. Perhaps if I would have shot it in color it wouldn't have come across so bleak.

I appreciate the input on this, honestly. I still have a lot to learn.

Kangaroos hate Hasselblads
I think one of the other problems people might have with it is the shot looks like it was taken with a fairly long lens without any awareness/consent from the subject (not that either of these things are absolutely necessary). This results in a creepy/voyeuristic photo, where the intent seems to be exploiting people, rather than engaging with people.
