My old cat, Mouse:

She was a former stray (very well socialized; we think she was an abandoned housecat). This photo was taken the day after we adopted her. She immediately knew where she wanted to be: on a keyboard.

Two months later she took over my shoe closet and had three adorable kittens. Left to right: Bear, Moxie, and Epsilon.

The kittens take after their mom :3:

We kept Mouse and Epsilon and my in-laws adopted the other two.

Unfortunately, Mouse died of cancer the following year. Epsilon is still with us, though, and she has an adopted sister, Suzie.

We're now living in a place with an actual backyard we can let them out in. They repay us for this by bringing live mice, voles, and cicadas into the house and letting them loose in the bedroom.

I have a request. Can people please post pictures of cats that are angry about being hugged? I have a friend who pretends to hate it when I hug him and I like to send him "this is us hugging!" pictures now and then. I've exhausted the top twenty pages of the obvious google searches and I've already shown him that "family portrait" series with the pug and two cats.

Someone commented that the kitten is probably too young to drink on its own and needs to be bottle fed, and the owners are jerks for just pouring poo poo out into a bowl.

Ugh that reminds me of a girl I knew in high school. She is one of the worst pet owners - but once when I was at her house she put a bowl out like that full of milk for the kittens (there were like 4 at the time). She literally shoved the kitten's head into the bowl because it wouldn't drink. I guess she was frustrated?

I am still pissed I didn't kick her right in the rear end.
