Does it seem to anyone else that youtube has a TON more ads than it used to, even as of like 6 months ago? I swear, 75% of the time I click a link taking me to youtube an ad comes up. Furthermore, it seems that far fewer are "skipable" than before.

I do believe you are correct.. to the point I load up Youtube put on a long running music list and do dishes. Too many ads on funny short videos now.

Why DSM is so high up on the Amazon Best Sellers list? I thought it's a specialist book, but at #6 in the list it's like everyone buys one.

You have to realize that it's not just psychiatrists and psychologists who use the DSM; it's also college students, medical students, regular doctors, insurance adjusters, law firms, etc. Also, they just came out with the DSM V in May, so everyone is replacing their old DSM IVs.

Is it possible for the average pleb to go in a sensory deprivation tank? I don't mean the new age relaxation ones, I mean the proper ones that cause hallucinations because the brain thinks you're asleep. Or are they just for research purposes?

Yep, a friend of mine did that once. Vancouver BC but I have no idea where it was specifically, it was about 20 years ago.

A proper anechoic chamber costs tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars, so finding a place of true silence is out. I've been in an anechoic chamber with about 10 other people and it was a little creepy, even though people were talking the entire time. If you really want to recreate the experience; buy earplugs, a pair of noise canceling headphones (the combination will help eliminate most of the sound you can hear), a tight fitting eye mask, then set a tub for yourself that is around 95 degrees with no soap. You should feel warm for a bit, but use this to relax. Once your body and the water has come to a temperature equilibrium, you should not be able to see, hear, or feel anything. Your taste and smell will still be active, so don't eat anything strong before you do this. I have not done this before, but by setting yourself up like this you may be able to recreate the experience.

I got a few questions about Paypal. I'm gonna be hopefully selling some stuff online soon, which I've never really done before. Problem is that I am in Denmark so bank transfers from the US is probably not an option(maybe?). What sorta fees are associated with using Paypal? Everything from creating an account to getting the money paid out to my bank account. I tried looking at the website, but I got really confused. Are there extra fees associated with receiving money from an US account when I am in Europe? Please help Fake edit: Should maybe mention that we're not talking about a lot of money here. Maybe 100-200 bucks tops.

I ordered some stuff from a website in Hong Kong (fasttech) and their recommended shipping option was USPS First class package. They sent me an email saying it's been shipped and has a tracking link, I click the tracking link and it always just says: Status: Acceptance. Date: 9/13, Location: Hong Kong. It's been a while since I've tried to make any sense out of any usps tracking #s, I remember them not hardly ever showing any info but is my stuff likely still stuck in HK or it's on its way and the USPS just sucks at providing tracking info at the level other guys do? Related to that: I didn't know I could get usps shipping from HK. Do they have offices over there just to ship stuff to the US? Could you ship something from HK to France with USPS?

Vin BioEthanol posted:I ordered some stuff from a website in Hong Kong (fasttech) and their recommended shipping option was USPS First class package. The usps might not come into play until the cargo container hits a NA port. Might also be related to the politics if international mail. Typically the destination handles the delivery for free in the assumptions the origin country extends the same courtesy. In the case where china is shipping much more to the US than receiving there might be an agreement about additional cost.

I want to buy some white LED strips for a costume, and they'll be mounted behind my head (glued to the inside of a hood for a backlight). The only problem is, I'm worried about the heat? If I buy something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Cold-White-Lights-Silver-Wire/dp/B004DZBYXK/ref=pd_sim_hg_4, will the back of my head get burned/make me really hot and uncomfortable?

Plus, the fact that you get 20 of them and the wires, ad the battery pack and the whole package is $6 tells me that they're using inexpensive LEDs, which means lower power LEDs, which means cooler LEDs.

It's simple mail service. The "USPS first class" part is to indicate how it will be delivered in america, as opposed to going by priority mail or express mail once in the US, after having been sent by a similar service in HK.

As an adult getting braces in a week, I've been considering what color bands to get. Some people keep telling me to go clear but then other people said that clear bands turn brown pretty quickly if you drink staining beverages (I drink a ton of black tea). Am I going to look supremely childish and stupid if I decide to get a color combination instead? I was thinking light blue with dark blue would match my eyes and might look nice or perhaps pink with silver.

I wouldn't say you'd look childish for choosing a color you like; much like any other accessory, you should pick something that makes you feel comfortable, especially since you can't take them off. If you end up regretting it, just get a different color at your next adjustment. But I'd be prepared, regardless of the color you choose, for at least some people to associate braces with immaturity. It's just one of those weird prejudices.

If you were sitting at http://mysite.com/index.html, the same bit of html would take you to http://mysite.com/page2.html. An absolute link looks like <a href="http://mysite.com/documentation/page2.html">Page 2</a>. No matter where your browser currently is, it should always take you to http://mysite.com/documentation/page2.html. An easy mistake is to write the second url as <a href="mysite.com/documentation/page2.html">Page 2</a>. It looks right, but the browser is going to think it's relative, because it doesn't start with http://.
