Is that the tequila barrel aged batch 69? That beer was a rare miss by ccb. But like a huge giant air ball miss.

Very much a long shot but maybe a MI or IN goon might be able/willing to do it: I'm looking for a bottle of Upland Sour Reserve Batch 2 because the taste I had this weekend made me very, very happy. PM if you have one you'd be willing to part with. I know this won't come cheap but I have a small cellar with BCBS variants, FW stuff, other various things. I'm also a CCB El Catador member with possible bottles from that available.

Does anyone live near Cascade and is willing to trade-mule me some bottles I can't buy online? Extremely interested in Tangerine Dream, Elderberry, etc. Have tons of great Chicago beers plus a cellar with some quality items in it, I'm sure we can come to an arrangement.

edit: I'm also interested in a separate trade for Cantillon 50N4E. I don't know if any of you guys have it, but I figured I'd ask. Will dig very deep for this one.

Tangerine Dream is good, Elderberry is alright, but Manhattan is where it's at. Go for that one. Trust.

Update: since I'll be in the Denver/Ft. Collins/Boulder area during GABF, I'd love to do a face to face trade while there. Specifically ISO Avery Thensaurum. Similar offer as above - can bring JK or other TX releases.

E: Also upping my ISO/FT. 2x Atrial Rubicite (and whatever else to meet $ value) for a DDG.

Just wanted to post publicly that I did a trade w/ funkybottoms. His end arrived today, very well packed. So far I have cracked DuClaw Sweet Baby Jesus, which was a surprisingly good twist on a robust porter, and a DC Brau Corruption IPA which is very solid as well. Funky will be receiving some tasty things from Allagash, Hill Farmstead, and some other locals on Monday, according to tracking.

How do y'all go about determining fair value for trades? Someone offered me Hardywood gingerbread stout, bourbon gingerbread stout, and a can of heady topper for one of my jester king atrial rubicite's, which sounds decent to me, but an acquaintance at the bar told me to hold out for more. Any advice on how to determine appropriate trade value?

Also, I have a bottle of atrial rubicite I'm willing to trade (outside of the one mentioned above), if anyone is particularly interested.

Typically all you can do is compare to current offers on Beer Advocate, Ratebeer and Reddit and go from there. The best advice is just to trade for beer you really want to try or have had and love.

The only way is to read the trade forums. A lot. None of those beers are particularly valuable, but if you want to try them, go nuts. AR is trading pretty hot right now. Not insane hot, but if there's something you want to try more than those beers, you can do better.

I just trade $4$ (dollar-for-dollar) unless it is something very difficult to get or something I have cellared purposefully and properly for a while - something with additional intrinsic value. With those scenarios, my trade partner and I reach an agreement ahead of time. I can get things like Allagash brewery-only sours really easily, so even though those are rare as far as the rest of the planet is concerned, they are just $4$ to me.

In the end, it's beer. I send things I have to get things I don't.

I wish more people had this attitude with trading nowadays. It seems like every person is hyping up their local releases, giving beers 5/5 for trade purposes on review sites, and then holding them ransom for only the rarest beers.

The people who get really sought after beers from me are the people who just want to try new beer and don't care about how rare it is. I've sent Dark Lords, Hunahpu, BA Hunahpu, BB Batch 9000, Black Note, JP Grand Reserves, BCBS Variants, Black Tuesday, and tons of other sought after beers without expecting anything specific in return.

Basically why I am looking for Fantasia or DDG, I think AR is totally reasonable for either and those two beers are the top of the list of what I want to try. Otherwise I don't really care about rarity and just stick to $4$

yeah, obviously you don't want to trade year-round shelf beers for something you got two bottles of from a beer release that you waited six hours in line for, but there is way too much of an emphasis on "winning" trades with some people. i've got a semi-regular trading partnership with five or six goons and it's really fantastic- one us sends a message like, "hey, X is coming out, you interested?" you see what else is kicking around, maybe establish a dollar amount, and bam, trade. if you trade with someone long enough, you don't even need to be that formal, you just send a box with a heads-up knowing that you'll get something sweet in return.

Fantasia is amazing and I wish I had a bottle of it. DDG, on the other hand, I could live without.

These are the best trading relationships. It's not that I don't want to send somebody something awesome in return, it's the fact that I've traded with the same people in the past multiple times and it seemed like we had to barter for days every time until a trade was agreed to.

Glad you enjoyed it, that BA Wulver tends to fly under the radar so it's a little easier to get. Expensive though, at something like $22-$24 for a 4-pack.

If you can pry it from somebody's cold dead hands, by all means get this beer. I had it again over the weekend and it was phenomenal. Very fruit forward with a nice tartness. I think it will be even better when it carbs up a little more and the fruit fades a bit to bring that tartness out some more.

Nothing specific. It really depends on what you're into.

I do have some bomber-sized bottles of Pour Decisions Acerbity (with and without Brett), which is a really great Berliner Weiss. Only a few hundred of that were made. I have some other somewhat limited MN releases as well, like Surly Darkness, Five, and some Brau Brothers stuff I think.
