So I made a new song, I think it's a big improvement over my previous stuff. Spent hours & hours on recording & tweaking it.

I like this a lot. Tiny criticism in that I'd prefer the vocals to be a little louder, but that might just be me. Really nice song. The brass section at 1:50-odd is lovely.

ninja edit: I wouldn't call your new one a massive improvement, 38 Steps, Are We All Right and Why Don't We... are all loving excellent. I really really like this. I'm gonna listen to some more while I get stoked.

Thanks for the positive feedback :)

Yeah, by "improvement" I really meant production-wise.

He wished it could be as respectable and orthodox as spying. But somehow in his hands the traditional tools and attitudes were always employed toward mean ends: cloak for a laundry sack, dagger to peel potatoes, dossiers to fill up dead Sunday afternoons ...
Here's mine, I got a lot of exposure on a reddit thread so some of my songs have a ton of plays and some of them have barely any. It's indie pop/sample pop/whatever I feel like making.

If anyone has any questions as to how I did anything I'll check back and answer you!

EDIT: There's kind of a lot of stuff so if you're browsing I recommend Sleep, Hoofbeats, or Flail;Hail.

I have a few new ones fueled by a breakup and being laid off.

https://soundcloud.com/flynnjaman/brokedown-avenue This first one is slightly underbaked for my taste, but I checked it off after a steady 7 hour session as 'really listenable'. The vocals have not been recorded.

https://soundcloud.com/flynnjaman/big-fat-gently caress-finger This is fully developed to my ear but would love recommendations.

So I got tired of writing songs about existential malaise and decided to do a character song (ala "Eleanor Rigby" or "David Watts") - it ended up being about a serial killer.

Did a little theme song for a podcast and decided to do kind of a Funky Worm, west coast early 90s, g-funk type of thing. Few flubs here and there but got it to where I was satisfied. Really fun coming up with something in a style I don't usually write for.

Working in a theatre I got given the challenge "Why has no-one made a reggae version of any Les Mis song?". 2 Days later I put out this, very tongue in a cheek and a whole lot of fun to make. Got a friend round for guitar and hilarious vocal work.

The one thing I would change is the bass. But we're currently deep into making "One Dub More" so too busy to go back and revise :P
