GTA has always been bad for Rubber Banding AI and the Triathlon is a grade A example of it. I can't stand that stuff in any game, personally. If I have a huge lead, it's because I earned it through skill or knowledge drat it.

Yea the rubberbanding they do for all the races is sometimes really jarring. Like you roll your car in one of the races and you'll end up only being a couple blocks behind after you roll back over.

Can you exploit the rubberbanding by coasting through most of the race until the last part and then just power through?

Anyway, I'm in some stock troubles. I followed this (just look at the description for the details) to try and make money, and despite following the guide, the stocks for AUG insurance and AirEmu continue to drop like crazy. I even stopped blowing up planes and causing mayhem and the stocks seemed to just do their own thing anyway. I've invested all my millions for every character and stand to lose hundreds of thousands. Okay, I'm having an issue that I haven't seen mentioned. I'm on a 360 running HDMI to a six foot screen, and the game looks great with no texture popping or framerate issues. The problem is that the cell phone (and tip pop ups) are super tiny. Small enough that if I held my Galaxy to the screen it covers the game phone fully. So the net effect is like trying to read a real cell phone from across the room. Is there some setting that I'm missing?

*Before everybody tells me to get glasses, I admit my vision isn't world class but my SO with brand new contacts and another friend with perfect vision also have to run back and forth across the living room to see who the gently caress is calling.

Go to Paleto Bay, opposite most of the buildings next to the train track are a bunch of big industrial looking buildings. round the back near the tracks is a yellow pipe, climb a ladder and walk along the pipe until you reach the metal roof. Theres a loft room thats fantastic for holding off the cops and if you time it right you can escape by jumping on the train.

Anyone else finding their points of interest they place on the map disappearing all the time?

So heres something to try regarding stocks - At the end of the game, buy a load of expensive weapons (Rockets, Grenade launcher, Sniper rifle in particular, whichever you like best for destroying cop cars and helicopters) and then put all your money into AUG insurance. Go on a spree and when you die the stock should have increased, possibly - I could never get into a safe enough position to withstand much of the onslaught - the idea is to destroy as many helicopters as you can.

I got a small increase but since I only managed 3 or 4 helicopters per spree I'm not sure whether it was just random fluctuation that conveniently lined up with my murders or not.

When you invest almost a billion though a small increase is worth about $3 million.

I made the same mistake, you're standing on the canopy above the actual roof with the collectable on it. Drop gently off the edge and you'll be on the right part.

When I was playing it the first time (Before I had to revert to a previous save) it was really tense doing the 'stealthy' bit inside the depository and not knowing what would happen. But when it comes down to it, yeah, it wasn't really much at all. The bank heist in Vice City and the Casino in San Andreas honestly felt like a bigger deal than that ended up being. It was a really nice setup though, even if it was mostly just the 2003 Italian Job but with muscle cars.

^ Sometimes collectables seem to bug out in placement, like they have vertical 'physics' which acts before the surroundings load in or something. I had a sub part appear to be inside some wreckage which wasn't accessible even though it looked like it should be so I was convinced I had to get in somehow. The glowing model was inside, it turned out, but the actual position for picking it up was on the seabed below quite a bit. Just going away far enough that it resets the area should be enough rather than restarting your console.

For anyone doing the final triathlon: you can pause the game and rest your hand/thumb. Best to do it during the bicycle bit because coming out of the pause menu makes your character stop running/swimming for some reason.

Good stuff! I've been there a bunch of times myself since finding it but only managed to escape once.

I can understand why a lot of people don't like how easy it is to die in this game, especially after the old gta games where the main character is usually very resilient but personally I love it. It adds a lot of tension to all police situations, and changes the way you approach shootouts. It also makes shooting your way out and escaping from 4 or 5 star wanted level feel like a real achievement.

I've only escaped 4 star or higher a handful of times but each one has been memorable and normally involved some tactic like running into a car park dropping tear gas as I go.

I am very curious about this little crescendo
Couple of things:

1) Collected all the spaceship parts last night. Got the neon buggy. Franklin's garage was full so I parked it outside in one of the bays, went in the garage to remove a car I didn't care about, and exited the garage.

But the buggy was gone.

Is it gone forever? If so, I am incredibly pissed off. Can I cheat-spawn one?

I guess I should have parked it in the safehouse garage instead while I removed a car from the other garage. Or maybe it couldn't be put in the garage anyway, I don't know. I'm just really upset :(

2) And another question while I'm at it: If I don't have the special or collectors edition of the game (just the retail one), apparently there's one of the items on the 100% checklist that I can't complete involving some flight activity. Does this mean I can't 100% the game or will it be clever enough to recognise what edition of the game I have.

It's not, the only bullshit is the idea that it's bullshit that what you do in the game outside of missions has no effect at all on LCN stocks. The effect just happens to be tiny, coming quickly and going away evenb quicker.

I think the problem for me is that free aim is a bit heavy and clunky, while assisted aim is ludicrously potent and basically does everything for you including tracking your target. It's not a real problem, but I feel combat damage has been balanced around having assisted aim on, and I don't use it.

You can. Assassination missions override the BAWSAQ link to the Social Club i.e. the stocks influenced by that mission will change on BAWSAQ for you and you alone.

(I still can't believe they put the assassination mission relevant stocks on BAWSAQ instead of LCN. It's almost like LCN was specifically put there for that exact reason but no.)

Reload so you don't waste it while reloading and you have a full magazine, aim, activate, adjust aim, shoot heads. That's all there really is to it.
