Woke up at 8am ET to play online. Worked well at that time. Made my character and won the starting race against 8 players. The 3 runner ups got put in a little gang with me and we drove off to do the rest of the tutorial stuff. We got to buy clothing poo poo and after I was done shopping and was waiting in the car for them one came out, shot me in the face, and stole my car  . Didn't matter though, I got a Vapid Dominator as my first car and it's pretty sweet.The online is pretty cool. But it's basically a glorified lobby. Instead of queuing from single player like IV it just queues you for freeroam automatcally and then you queue for missions by making actually going to a location.

So I jumped off a building with a parachute after finishing a mission. Just waiting for the game to show the mission complete screen. (I just had to leave the area) The screen comes up while I am still gliding around with my parachute. Franklin decides to take out his phone to call the mission giver, which results in the parachute vanishing and I fall to my death. So I failed the mission.

Yup, I can create the character and go through the opening cut scene without a problem. Then I get to screen where I am just standing in the parking lot and it says Launching Session. I keep seeing other characters pop in and out but nothing for me.

Ive been playing online and keep getting thrown into friends games which is excellent. I just got put in a friends game, so went and stole a police car. I then followed him around with the lights on chasing him, he apparently though i was just another police officer as he had a wanted level so went in the pay and spray. I waited next to and as soon as he left started chasing him again, killed him, took his personal car and threw it in the ocean. Hes blocked me from playing with him now

I feel like my game file skipped a mission. I did the set up for the raid on the FIB headquarters this morning while trying to get into GTA Online on and off. Later on, I ended up doing missions that seemed to imply I had already done that heist, even though I hadn't actually done it yet. Now, I'm up to The Big Score and I still haven't seen it. Did my game somehow skip that heist?

Hey, asked this earlier in the thread but kinda got buried under GTA Online misery - are there any prerequisites to unlock the mission 'Bury the Hatchet'? Last mission I beat was 'Surveying the Score' and since then Michael has been grayed out and I can't switch to him but Trevor and Franklin don't have any missions open to them. Pretty frustrating. I installed GTA Online before doing the previous mission if it makes any difference.

Stupid question time: My dad is coming over in a few hours because he is really stoked to try the game and has been texting me for weeks to tell me how much he is looking forward to running over pedestrians with a tractor  . Is the single-player still working fine? Are we going to get stuck downloading an undownloadable patch and not be able to play? This is for PS3, if that matters.

I joined an online game, got killed instantly and ran/drove around an empty map for two hours trying to trigger something. Now I've found out there's a tutorial.

Either missions are getting skipped or your save file will be corrupted altogether, though I suspect the latter is people quitting the game while it's saving.

Yeah, my PS3 hardlocked the first time I tried to get the patch (to the extent that I had to rip out the power cord to turn it off), then it worked fine on the second try. I can make characters and get as far as the intro race thing if I go into a Solo/Invite game, which makes me think my only problems are just the server exploding. Singleplayer seems okay.
