Not anymore, I actually think Psylocke and Supergirl are great counterpoints on the current direction of Marvel and DC. Compare the various versions of Supergirl pre New 52 and the current costume. They went from something kinda skimpy to basically the same costume, only she doesn't even get a skirt. In Marvel Now Psylocke switched from an uncomfortable looking swimsuit, to a costume that looks vaguely like something an actual ninja would wear.

Psylocke also got rid of the boob socks, which is nice. I mean, ouch.

The singlet thong and chronic "boobs-butt pose" are why I hate this character. She has no purpose other than Chris Claremont spank material. At least she looks different now, but who knows how long it'll last?

SynthOrange posted:She was Captain Britain's sister and white before falling into a magic plot hole. It's funny, reading her bio on wikipedia is like tracing my personal history with reading X-men. I started paying attention to the book and reading it mostly regularly right about the time she moved from England to Westchester, when the Morlock Massacre started going down. I started getting lazy and getting most of my info for what was going down from the other kids on the playground around the time she was asian-ified and the team re-formed. By the time she got her full powers back, I was like "gently caress if I'm keeping track of this mess." and stepped away from Marvel altogether for some time. Thinking about it, Besty getting a case of The Vapors hardly is what turned her into sex object personified. She was just the more "Western" lacy sexy. Thinking back, it seems like they wrote a whole lot of excuses for her to get naked back in the day, whether it was "Roughhousing Storm crashes into bedroom where Psylocke is posing naked for Colossus' painting", or "Oh, her metal outfit has to be removed so she can swim across this raging river. Naked."

In fact, I sort of hoped that when he met Captain America for the first time, Steve would think that this was his old foe all 'roided out and he'd just start wailing on the kid. It would be hilarious.

Mojo's always been kind of a weird villain. He seems like he should have been created by Alan Davis as an Excalibur villain or as a member of the ClanDestine, but nope, he was Ann Nocenti's idea.

Mojo is great. I love when he appears in Exiles and he's all "Nah, there's just only one Mojoverse." I have a soft spot for him because I started reading comics when he was like the main villain (or when those comics made their way to Finland which was like ten years later). That was an weird era. Longshot. Spiral. X-Babies.

I feel like in an age of reality TV, camera phones, and omnipresent surveilance, Mojo is due for a comeback, but I also feel like he'd be totally superfluous. "BWAHAHAHAHA! X-MEN! FROM NOW UNTIL ETERNITY, YOUR EVERY MOVE... WILL BE ON CAMERA! ...oh okay never mind you got this"

Angry Walrus posted:Wasn't Doug the one with the lovely translator powers that wound up getting killed because his sucky powers had zero use in combat situations? No, Doug was the one who was seconds away from an implied gangbang in the Hellfire Mansion when they went around to visit that one time, the one who got all the ladies all the time, and whose awesome and totally useful language powers literally saved the world at least once an issue. He may have ended up getting shot to death. Man, New Mutants was awesome, Doug Ramsey is the best and Professor Xavier is a Jerk.
