Played everything I wanted to hear from the new album plus a bunch of older stuff. I just chilled in the back because I'm old, fat and out of shape but it seemed pretty decent up front. There was one warning from Tomas about bumping into the brass section but after that eventing was cool and he seemed into it. Also after the encore he dropped a not so subtle "See you soon".  He told us it was the last time he was ever coming to see us.

Reel Big Fish and Five Iron Frenzy are playing in State College, PA next month. I talked to the concert promoter this evening and he said shows like this are going to become regular. I am so happy.

Reel Big Fish announced on their FB page today that Dan Regan will be leaving the band after playing trombone for them for twenty years. His last show is this Sunday. Bummer Wonder who they'll find to replace him? And what they'll do in the meantime? They only had two horns for a bit this summer when Johnny Christmas' wife had a baby so I guess they can cover for each other, but it'll be interesting to see how.

At least the show is off campus so Penn State can't ruin it by choosing the worst possible openers imaginable for a ska show. Reel Big Fish was sullied by the Lloyd Dobbler Effect back in 2010 and only Aaron's incredible energy saved the show. There is no band in the world with more

I drove to Des Moines last week and saw Voodoo Glow Skulls in a tiny rear end bar with maybe 50 other people, if even. They played Firmé in its entirety, and I was able to relive high school  That show made up for the last time I saw them live, when they played maybe 1/3 of a set and then walked offstage because some people wouldn't stop fighting. They never came back to Minneapolis after that. They're going to tour Europe next month, and will be doing another US tour this spring.
