I guess it's a case of once people are watching, who cares? That's the problem with having the rights to something so popular, people will watch regardless of the presenters. Look at Gray and Keys. Nobody really liked them, but it's not like people had any choice in the matter, so they kept their jobs. edit: when I say "that's the problem", I mean for the viewer, of course.

Also although I guess Andy Gray has actually done stuff (player of the year and young player of the year etc) Richard Keys was always just Some BlokeTM who no one had any loving idea who he was. He just seemed like some smarmy guy they had parachuted in which looked especially bad when next to Jeff Stelling who seemed like a Genuine FanTM who was happy to be there and everyone loves.
