We don't have an owner with more money than sense, or 18 different trainers and ipads that track players or w/e :colbert:.

Anyway, wonder who the next trainer will be. And how much it will affect the performance of the players. It can't get much worse, but still...

The ref in the Gent-Genk game was infuriating. The free kick that lead to Genk's second goal was never a free kick. And that time he overruled his assistent with the offside call almost lead to the 1-3.
Was happy to see Gent play more attacking football though. First 30 minutes were the best I've seen them play all season. Mboyo would probably have scored the 2 or 3 chances that Privat didn't, but oh well.

Don't know if this is the correct thread, but for those who don't know already: Zakkaria Bakkali chose to become a Belgian international in stead of a Morrocan international.
And Januzaj hasn't decided yet, but he refused the call-up to the Red Devils by Wilmots. Claiming that it's too early to decide, he wants to focus on his career at United first.

Worse news is that Kompany is out again, after being pressed back into play to save City from crashing and burning.

e: mmm, i just thought about Bakkali, Hazard and Mertens up front. Mmm. Then halfway into the game, sub in Benteke and Lukaku and let De Bruyne bury them in assists. Mmmm.

I bet Januzaj will join us when we go to Brazil, although I doubt he'd get much playing time.

Only in Belgium. Referees are massively incompetent and a bunch of them are, let's say, not really neutral.

You only have to watch a game with foreign commentary to realize how bad the refs really are. Commentators are practically always amazed at the dumb decisions they make.

R. Mute
Jul 27, 2011

I know, I saw that one. I turns out it was a bad call, but it was close. He tapped the ball like a millisecond before he hit Raman, any ref would've given that. Look at the last shot of that clip you showed - that's what the ref saw. Engels slides in, Raman goes down and the ball bounces off.

That said, yes, Belgian refs are utterly gash. Did De Sutter at least deserve his second yellow?

belgend

No, he went in for a tackle, saw he was too late and tried to stop himself, didn't even really hit the lad. In every decent league that'd just be a free kick.

Well, to be fair, Mechele (I think, memory is hazy on monday morning) escaped from a red card in the first half. And Odjidja also got away with attacking some ankles.
That last penalty call was wrong though, but it had hardly any impact on the game. I mean, 93th minute, while Brugge is 3-1 down.

To be fair? Giving a red card to one player instead of another is fair? Giving Club all the yellows and almost none to Kortrijk is fair? Tackle with two feet forward, not giving a foul, and letting them score from that is fair? Red card at the end and most likely asking for a suspension is fair? (Ref said afterwards that red was for a reaction, which is frankly even more retarded than the penalty itself.) FAIR???
